As 2019 came to a close we were excited to add a new member to our group, Andrea Hodges. A former Lion we are pleased to Andrea decided to return to Lions and chose our club. While the first real snow fell and blanketed the Valley with Christmas snow President Tom led the Rutland Lions through a night of stories, sharing, and Christmas Spirit. Reminding everyone what a wonderful feeling it is to be a Lion.
For 129 yrs The Salvation Army has been ringing bells in Canada filling kettles to help those in our community who truly need it. This year once again the Rutland Lions Club will proudly help by taking turns ringing those bells #weserve
Do you remember this funny guy from the 70’s? He played Quigley on #AllInTheFamily... Famous character actor Burt Mustin!! Did you know he was also a founding member of the Pittsburgh Lions Club in 1921 and was an active Lion for his entire life, until his death in 1977. Lions we’re pretty cool Come join us!
Today all across Canada Lions Clubs marched shoulder to shoulder with Vets. It was an honour to march with these men and women. #LestWeForget
Welcome to the new board of Directors of the Kelowna Rutland Lions Club! Over 50 years serving the community! Did you know that parents who volunteer for community service clubs teach their children to be active members of their community? The more a child/youth is involved in their community the less chance they will become involved in drugs/alcohol and other high risk behaviours. Only 2 days a month! Contact the Kelowna Rutland Lions Club find out how you can become a member!
Makes our hearts full to give to such a great organization like the Kelowna's Gospel Mission!! #givingback

Proud of the #RutlandLions for coming together and building a miniature Kelowna RCMP building for the Kelowna and District Safety Council Little Travellers Safety Village. Hoping to get our little car spruced up soon too! We love supporting our #community! #WeServe over 50 years! #Okanagan

July 9th - (warning you may need tissues for this one; I did when I read it)...Megan had her dream day yesterday! Our family got dressed up and went to the Star...light Room at the Hospital to celebrate Megan's special day. We ran into Rapunzel in the elevator and Megan was very happy to see her (very emotional). When we got to the Starlight room Megan was greeted like a little princess herself and received a beautiful bouquet of flowers (fake because she cannot have real) and a wonderfully decorated room. Megan and Rapunzel danced together (Megan tried her best despite her pain and rocked from foot to foot while mommy or daddy held onto her waist). Rapunzel sang to her, read to her and gave her wonderful surprises! When Rapunzel left we wheeled Megan over to a table which had her favorite sandwiches, cupcakes and iced tea. The child life team and 6A (floor we are on) had a Cinderella tea set waiting for her and a Build A Bear that she has always wanted. Megan also had asked that brother Gavin get a Build A Bear and our Dream Day coordinators made it happen! Megan got Treasure and Gavin got Grizzy! This was a huge highlight for our family as Megan had a really tough week here at the hospital. Monday she had a blood transfusion and ultrasound, Tuesday was a CT scan and Wednesday before Dream Day was an ECG. Despite all the tests and needles she had this week we got to take a moment as a family and just enjoy our time together. We found out from the tests that Megan's tumour has grown approximatley one cm bigger (STOP GROWING). The best news we got was that there isn't any shading on her lungs which means there hasn't been any spreading, nor was there any spreading anywhere else. We continue to wait! We continue to try and keep all of our spirits up! We continue to stay strong when all we want to do is take our family home! Love Michelle, Jaimie, Megan and Gavin See more
