A poorly aligned or bent derailleur can cause more than just bad shifting. A chain can damage the spokes in your wheel if it falls off behind your cassette or if your derailleur makes contact with the wheel it can damage both the wheel and derailleur. These scenarios can be avoided with some simple maintenance like a Fix It Up tune-up but if the damage is done we can fix that too! After bedding in 8 disc brakes I wanted to give my legs a rest and talk about disc brake care. Disc brakes can offer excellent stopping power but special care must be taken to ensure they continue to work effectively. Grease and oils, even from your fingers, and aerosols like WD40 must be kept away from disc brakes. Contamination on the rotors will contaminate your pads if not cleaned off properly, and your brakes will lose effectiveness. Always use clean gloves when handling pads or rotors and clean with isopropyl alcohol or commercial brake cleaner to ensure they continue to work for the entire life of the pads. If your disc brakes aren't stopping you like they used to let Kelso's refresh or replace them so you can stop with confidence and do mad skids
