Keltsmaht Enterprises is now based at the home of Keltsmaht Nation, at the Yarksis Village site on Vargas Island! We are much closer to Tofino now and are available for tours and charters throughout the winter season. Covid precautions are in place and we ask that you sanitize upon boarding the boat and wear a mask. The vessel is sanitized between groups as well for everyone's safety. We look forward to getting you on the water this season!

We're a few weeks into Fall and lots has happened this season! We're nearly done our off grid cabin build on Vargas Island. We will be moving within a few weeks and our operations will be based from Yarksis on Vargas Island instead of Ahousaht. We've been doing much more snorkeling using the Sweet Marie as a dive boat. It's been amazing to explore the underwater world below our hull!... We have had a few tours, a week long docu-series charter and of course, lots of trips for locals in and out of Ahousaht and Hotsprings. The Winter always brings a calm, despite the storms and rough weather, but we look forward to the slow down each year!

We have decided on a tentative opening date of June 15th for tours. We will be open to Vancouver Island residents only for the time being. You will be required to provide and wear your own mask (as will the captain), and hand sanitize when boarding the vessel. At this time Hotsprings Cove and Flores Island have not reopened so we will only be able to provide wildlife tours with no land based components.... We do not have an estimated date of expanding our services to the rest of BC's residents but we will keep you updated as things progress. Thank you for your understanding!

We're getting close to reopening to the public but we haven't made any decisions yet on what that will look like for us this season. At the very least we will only be available for local BC bookings for any tours and charters. We may decide to open in stages and begin with coastal locals first. No matter what, this season won't look like those from the past. Thank you for your understanding and support in these challenging times.

How is everyone's isolation going? I thought I would share some photos here of what I have been up to. We are trying to take this time to get out and explore Le...nnie's territory (He is Ahousaht First Nation and we live within the territory) more intimately. We've had to shut our water taxi business down for the most part and I've lost most of my work, so we have some extra time on our hands. We're so looking forward to taking people out to explore Clayoquot Sound again soon but in the meantime we will share it with you digitally! We miss you all!

As we all know, things are rapidly changing in our world. Due to COVID-19 (and to take some time off to disconnect for our own projects) we will be suspending all taxi and tour services indefinitely. We will honour any pre-booked trips in the upcoming days and are available for emergency transportation. Please do not hesitate to call us, particularly to book for later in the summer months! Please note: Walk the Wildside is closed annually until May 1, though due to COVID-19 and the risk to our remote community, it is closed indefinitely.

Today we had a super rare, and even more exciting, quad cetacean sighting of grey whales, humpback whales, a fin whale (!!!) and orcas! Spring brings far more than herring to our coastal waters - all these other magnificent marine giants are drawn into the coastline as a result too. #Tofino #ExploreBC #YourTofino #AboriginalBC
