Our Grade 7 students have been working on their Saturated Solutions and Crystal Formation Lab! The lab aims to further the students' understanding of solutions and the factors that affect the amount of solute that a solvent can dissolve.

Kempenfelt Bay School welcomed back its students on September 8, 2020. Under the direction of our Safe Return to School Plan, students are learning in the classroom full-time. This year, students who need to be remote, are able to access their class live via Google Classroom. Our #KBSTeacherFeature is Mrs. Hall! A little know fact about Mrs. Hall is that she is one of KBS' founding teachers, having joined in 1999. When asked about KBS, Mrs. Hall says "I love teaching Grade 1 at KBS! I love working with our collegial faculty and staff. We support one another through ups and downs, encourage each other's professional growth, and work towards common goals. The main reason I love teaching first grade is the kids! When you are surrounded by an enthusiastic group of students who love to learn, it is easy to love your job. Our #KBSTeacherFeature is Ms. Ahern! A proud member of Christie House, Ms. Ahern has previously led the KBS Skating Club and currently runs the Scrapbooking Club. When asked about her favorite part of teaching at KBS, Ms. Ahern said, "the sense of community. I couldn't imagine working with a more supportive team of colleagues."

Ms. McDonald introduced color theory by teaching our students to tie-dye their art bags! Every student at KBS has their own art bag filled with art supplies provided by the school. This eliminates the spread of germs through the sharing of materials and allows our students to have art materials readily available in case they need to be remote.
