Update to the rink re-open plan as per new guidelines issued today. Mandatory masks at all times!
A reminder for everyone who skates at the rink, passes must be purchased! With no minor hockey teams based in town this year, fees paid with other teams do not include a pass for our rink. A single pass is $50, a family pass is $100. Single skate drop-in is $5. Cheques made payable to KCRB & handed to Mike or Julia at public skating or can be dropped off at the town office during usual hours. Public skating times will be posted soon!
Final super deep clean just about done! Some rubber floor mats replaced. It’s so clean we may have found hairs from Steve Prpich’s moustache from the 80s.
We are almost ready to open! We have a few private bookings for practices this weekend that we are going to use to see how our Covid-19 re-open plan works in terms of traffic flows and cleaning/sanitizing protocols. Once we are happy with this then we will publish Public Skating availability. Please take a look at our entrance & exit guidelines whether you are coming to the rink as a player/team member, public skater or spectator. Extra signage is in place at the rink to rem...ind everyone! We are trying to minimize the interaction between user groups as much as we can, especially when games are on. A reminder that face masks are mandatory for all SHA games and practices and advised for public skating also. Disposable masks are available to purchase if you do forget to bring your own. Please observe social distancing, hand sanitizer will be available at both entrances.
Calm before the Blizzard!
We are upping our cleaning game at the rink this winter to ensure everyone’s safety.

Just a reminder that EVERYONE must sign in at the entry to the rink whether you’re skating or not. This includes leaving a real phone number not the line from a Dolly Parton song. We have a few blank spaces where contractors or spectators haven’t left any details or just scrawled a name or not signed in at all even though they have been seen in the rink. If there is a case traced to our rink, then you will miss out on being contacted. We are trying to keep our community safe!!!
