We have been open for just over a year in our new location and we have had a tremendous amount of growth. With how busy our dry eye clinic has been we listened to your concerns and are SO excited to announce that we now have an IPL (intense pulsed light) machine! IPL is all the rage now and not only does it treat the inflammatory cycle that causes dry eye disease, it can do a WHOLE bunch of other things! It is also a lot better at treating patients with rosacea than standard RF. We already have RF in the clinic but this machine also adds a second kind of RF that may be even m...ore beneficial for our dry eye patients and that is particularly beneficial in the aesthetics and skin tightening world. For those of you who don’t know, the Government of SK left out Prairie Harm Reduction in their recent budget and programs like these are so desperately needed so that we can stop losing loved ones to addiction. Addiction affects everyone; whether it affects you directly or not, it has affected someone you know in some way, shape, or form and it can happen to anyone. For those of you who think that safe consumption sites are a waste of tax money, well we want to remind you tha...t they actually help keep our taxes down because they are preventing overdoses and hospitalizations. The increase in overdoses that have happened since the pandemic hit have been nothing but alarming. We are far from having all the necessary services we need to effectively treat addiction in SK but having a safe consumption site is progressive and will save lives. We wish we could do a fundraiser but since we are a medical office, we can’t have walk-in visits, so the clinic is donating $1000 to Prairie Harm Reduction, in coalition with the other small local businesses that have stepped up. We challenge other businesses to do the same thing. Alone we are strong, but together we are stronger. Hi all! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Courtney and I am the owner of Kennedy Eye Clinic . 2020 has impacted each and every single one of us differently and my heart goes out to those who have been negatively impacted. 2020 for me has been a year of tremendous growth on a personal and professional level. It’s also been the most challenging year of my life, especially after opening a business amidst a global pandemic, but it has definitely been the most r...ewarding year of my life. I have done a lot of self reflecting and wanted to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of our patients, friends, family and supporters. Because of all of you, my dream turned into a reality this year with the clinic expansion. Being an Optometrist and being a business owner is definitely part of my purpose in life and I cannot tell you how much joy it brings me to go to work each and every single day to help my patients. Serving my community and giving back to it is truly the best feeling. My team is comprised of an amazing and special group of women that make me want to be the best version of myself possible and for that, I will be eternally grateful. I am ending 2020 with being the most happy I’ve ever been and I’m so full of hope for the future, and although this holiday season was unconventional, everyone who supports me and wants to support me and see my amazing business grow has shown that they are here for me loud and proud.
