Snow Blower Maintenance Tip #1 Remove old fuel Make sure there is no old fuel resting in your snow blower. Old fuel can cause problems for your blower’s engine, making it hard to start. If there is any old fuel dispose of it properly. The fuel can be drained by disconnecting the fuel line between the fuel tank and carburetor. The gas from the fuel tank can then be drained into a drain pan and then properly disposed of. Any residual fuel in the carburetor may be drained by removing the carburetor bowl. Inspect the bowl gasket and replace if needed.
