We are keeping it green! As of October 1st, Kent Building Supplies will be removing plastic shopping bags from all stores to support Canada’s move towards reducing ocean waste by banning single-use plastics. By removing 1.5 million plastic shopping bags from circulation, we will reduce our carbon footprint by 109,000 pounds. Paper bags are available for purchase and recycled reusable bags will be available no later than November 1st.

That’s a total of 1.5 million plastic bags that will be removed from circulation in Atlantic Canada, therefore reducing our carbon footprint by 49,500kg or 109,000 pounds! Locally sourced paper bags will be available for purchase (from $0.10-$0.15/ea) starting October 1st and recycled reusable bags ($1.49/ea) will be available no later than November 1st.
