Today would of marked the begining of the Kent County Agricultural Fair. Although we could not physically have a fair this year, we wanted to share a special video to symbolize the 2020 Expo Kent. Aujourd'hui aurais été la première journée de l'exposition agricole de Kent. Malgré que cette année nous n'avons pas été capable d'avoir l'exposition en personne, nous voulions partager une vidéo spéciale pour symboliser l'expo kent 2020.

On the week of what would have been the 64th annual Kent County Agricultural Fair "Expo Kent". On behalf of our Board of Directors, Committee Members, Volunteers and Fair supporters we hope you, your friends and families are enjoying your summer and continue to work hard to ensure our province is safe under the current covid19 pandemic. We want to ensure everyone we are working hard in developing a successful fair in 2021 and hope to see you all return next year! Thank you. On behalf of our Board of Directors, Volunteers, Committees, Entertainers, Sponsors, Vendors, Livestock Exhibitors, Interior Exhibitors and anyone involved in the operation of Expo Kent. We like many of you are very disappointed on the decision to cancel Expo Kent for 2020. It was not an easy decision to make but the most responsible thing to do given the ongoing covid19 pandemic that we are all working together to ensure the health and safety within all our homes and comm...unities. We promise to work very hard to ensure we bounce back better than ever in 2021 and as more details become available we will certainly keep you updated on our future plans. Nous comme plusieurs d’entre vous sommes déçus dans la décision d’annuler expo kent pour l’an 2020 en raison de la pandémie covid19. Ce n’était pas une décision facile à prendre, mais la meilleure décision pour assurer la santé et sécurité dans notre communauté. Nous allons travailler fort pour nous assurer de revenir meilleur qu’avant en 2021. New Brunswick fairs and exhibitions suspended for 2020 The New Brunswick Fairs and Exhibitions Association has announced that all events scheduled for 2020 are suspended because of the situation surrounding COVID-19. Our fairs and exhibitions are an integral part of summer and fall here in New Brunswick, said Mike Vokey, executive director of the association. The decision to cancel was difficult but essential to protect the health and safety of our producers, our volunteer...s and the public. We all need to do our part in limiting the spread of this virus. Vokey explained that such gatherings are contrary to the social distancing and hygiene recommendations of New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health. Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Ross Wetmore supported the decision. Fairs are a tradition for many New Brunswickers, a way to celebrate our farmers and bring communities together, said Wetmore. This is a prudent and responsible decision. Our government will continue to work with our fairs and exhibitions to promote our agricultural sector’s vitality. The New Brunswick Fairs and Exhibitions Association also thanked the many volunteers that typically make these events a success and invited them to offer their support again in 2021. See more
