This is the time that we give out our grants for the year. Application is closed now. Due to the Covid-19 situation, the grant landscape changed. The Fraser Canyon Hospice Society was not able to hold their annual grief camp and was allowed to keep and rollover the grant to be c/f to 2021. The Senior Peer Counselors is winding down due to lack of volunteers and in any event, with the Covid-19 still around, they cannot hold their Senior/Teen lunches. They did not submit a requ...est. This is also a shout-out to anyone who wish to carry on this work. We only give out grant to charities and non-profits that are formally registered with the CRA. This meant there are groups that we are unable to do so this year. That is the AHA Aquanauts/AHA Swim Club. Did you know that the Kent-Harrison Foundation has offered grants totaling $143,476 to the Kent-Harrison community since 2001? For the past four years I have b...een their District of Kent Council liaison. Through the distribution of income from permanent endowment funds and donations this non-political, non-government local charitable organization also gives out bursaries to local graduating students.
