The kindest and most loving thing we can do for our dogs is train them. A trained dog won't have difficulty getting rehomed to a loving home if an emergency were to occur. A trained dog will easily be able to travel with you to hotels and family events....Continue reading
Bailey retrieving 2 consecutive times to hand. :) His indoor foundation is going well and he's about ready to move to outdoors and distance work!
I love him Bentley
Bagheera was a good girl in the store today! She was quiet and polite and ignored the people :) she even laid down on her own whenever we stayed in one spot for longer than 10 seconds! Big changes!
Bagheera working around in public distractions! What a good girl!
Rumor was here for Drop-off Training to do some BH obedience foundation work, socialization, and worked on her stacking for shows too! She had a great day and also made new friends!
Have a shy dog? Drop-off Day Training can help bring their confidence up! Check out Rio rocking it after gaining trust in a new handler!
Made a post this morning about walking with 7 dogs. Today walked with 8... Milo joined this time so you could see what I meant when I stated "Hes not a dog dog." Hes off by himself in the distance doing whatever he likes to do.. which is sniff and sniff. The rest of the pack are there with me playing and socializing. Both kinds of dogs are fine :) as long as both are respectful to everyone.
Rio the Golden had her very first Drop-off Day Training today! She learned lots and had fun! Maisie the Westie mix came for another day to learn how to walk politely on a leash, and Roxy the Jack Russell, one of my regulars, is continuing her obedience, and ecollar work so her owner can enjoy her off leash :)
Training Archie the 7 month old Goldendoodle to stay in distractions
*Emotional moment today* One of the dogs that came today was a young Malinois female who was started in IGP/Schutzhund in the states, but has been rehomed to her third home, through no fault of her own. Shes sweet but a bit shy. She came in the room unsure, and kind of closed off. Her new owners have had her for 3 weeks, and found me through some searching for trainers experienced with working dogs. She came with hopes to help make a connection with her and get some idea of... what she knows and her needs. And man, did this girl ever blossom in one session! From a shy, jumpy thing, to prancing around being happy, confident and showing off what she knows, she was so happy to discover that I knew how to communicate with her, and when I showed her owner how to do some basic things with her, you could just see the happiness and hope in her eyes as she left I was almost emotional as the dog came up to me affectionately at the end of the session, as if to say, thank you for bridging the communication gap with me and my owner... this team will be continuing to work with me to build a connection and reach their full potential in both obedience and tracking as well See more
Blitz's favorite weather! Mine too!
These 3 had a fantastic Drop-off Day!! What awesome progress on these pups today! All 3 got nails done and a big pack walk with total 8 dogs which they loved.... Bentley the Boston Terrier and Diesel the American Bully also worked on stays in distractions, and Roxy the Jack Russell worked on learning the stay, and finished her ecollar foundation training and enjoyed her very first off leash walk! Diesel also started learning to Hold an object on command, drop a toy on command, and Bentley practiced ear cleaning and manners/patience.
Beautiful Beulah is here for Drop-off Training working on some obedience and patience to prep for her Canine Good Neighbor test. Shes the sweetest thing!
Its so hard for Bentley to make a normal face
Took Bentley to town for some work with cars. Bentley is a regular here for Drop-off Day Training he loves seeing his friends and playing and learning new things!
Bailey was happy to be back at his Drop-off Training again yesterday! He's coming along! Super worker
**Now booking April** Drop-off and now offering some private lessons again too My hand is finally recovered enough to get back to work after a couple weeks off. First day back, had Bailey, Bagheera and Diesel for Drop-off Training. Bailey worked on his retrieves and obedience, Bagheera on manners patience and obedience, Diesel on his stays, nails, and social skills. We also got a visit from Hilda the Shepherd for a playdate!
When you get the zoomies cause youre having so much fun such a little funny girl! Started with some manners work, also introduced a lot of articles or obstacles for socialization surfaces etc. Very confident girl. And then finished off with some obedience beginnings of sit and down positions
Last outdoor class of the year went great for the final Basic obedience group of 2020. Indoor 2021 classes will start in January
The cutest little naughty thing!! starting right, by starting early!
Manic and his roomate Fred the long coat GSD both learned the ecollar today for offleash recall. Amazing how fast these boys picked it up! Both trained off the line for recall in just 1 hour session. Happy boys!
Learning fun exercises for agility foundations and to keep an active dog satisfied mentally in the coming winter months <3 Raine was a superstar and learned so much today!
Didn't get pics of everyone who came today but heres 3 appointments that I did snap pics of fun day, lots of baby puppies learning how to have fun at the trainers and build confidence

Where does your dog stand? Rival - conditioned Milo - pet weight Sailor - pet weight with few extra pounds
Update with covid we are still open and taking advantage that we can still train outdoors on the field and we will be ok to use indoor for private lessons if needed because of weather but you must sanitize upon entering and use a mask indoors. You must also have no symptoms. :) thanks everyone!
Sharing pic from another post. So important to have ecollar "installed" correctly and in a stress free, clear way. A good foundation is an asset for life, and will improve any relationship between dog and handler! Dont buy cheap ecollars! Buy Dogtra!!
This 100x Its about the journey, not the destination. Enjoy your puppys silliness. You'll miss it when theyre old and white faced
Little Australian Shepherd learning new things and getting socialized to obstacles, different surfaces, smells etc. Its never to early to start training!
It's amazing how a dog can come so far in just 3 sessions. This dog is night and day difference from the day I met him. He is now patient, obedient and trying to please and wants to be with his owner. Trained him for off leash work with the ecollar and now the on leash manners got worked on today too. Everything has come together perfectly! Never give up on your dogs, and trust me as the trainer to know what I'm doing when I recommend a path of training Always such a fun time working with this guy and his owner
Crate training TIPS 1. Feed in the crate always. 2. Dont just put them in when you leave and at night. 3. Use it daytime when you are house cleaning or can't supervise and for naps. ... 4. Make it a mandatory part of life - not optional. Don't give full freedom of your whole house when you bring them home. Offer crate and ex pen and only limited time in the living area with you to play while they're small. Keep it simple for them. 5. Always reward for them going in when asked. 6. Crate in the car too. 7. Use plastic, not metal crates. Why crate train? Crate train not only for your sanity, minimizing mess and damage to your house, but for SAFETY and for YOUR DOGs future. Eliminates risk of dog getting into anything and you coming home to a dog who's dying or vomiting and you don't know why because you dont know what they ate. They can't destroy or mess in your house when you're away. Avoids them learning behaviors like counter surfing, pacing, and practicing boredom behavior like chewing on furniture. Is a safe spot for unsure or aggressive dogs while company is over. Plastic or impact resistant crates are safer in the car for the driver because there isnt a loose dog, and also the dog in case of brakes applied or sharp turn, accident etc. What if you need to send them to a boarding kennel, trainer or vet someday? Or what if you need to fly them across the country? What if you need to rehome in the future and the next owners need to crate. If theyre used to being crated and contained peacefully, the notion of going into a containment area is not stressful, its peaceful and safe. It's doing your dog a huge favor if they are crate trained as it takes away all future stress associated with it in their life. Safety. If the videos of dogs starting fires while at home loose arent enough to scare you, think about forgetting to put that bottle of Tylenol away just once while youre away. Even if you rarely use it, you still should make an effort to use it consistently at some point throughout your dogs life. Whether its in the car, or at night, or when company is over. Do your dog a favor. Crate train. Kent K9 Training Center NB Canada

A group stay with some recalls tonight in intermediate class
From zero leash manners or focus, to this kind of focus - in one session! Milo helped :) Long ways to go for consistency! Focus can't be forced. It must be encouraged and built!
Maggie and Fox - their second workshop with me, super progress on competition heeling - good job team! You've come so far in such a short time. Thanks Kaitlin Fraser for organizing and having me down to NS again, great bunch of dogs and people. Looking forward to keep working with you guys.
