Emergency call on a long weekend. Homeowner had changed out their water heater tank to an instant water heater but used the existing 1/2 copper line, which is too small for the new water heater. The local utility had installed 3/4 CSST to a manifold which had been covered by a finished drywall ceiling in the basement. To avoid hacking up the ceiling, I ran a new 1 iron pipe into the mechanical room. Once all the piping was done, the water heater didn’t start up right away - flame sensor needed an adjustment. #gastechnician #naturalgas #londonontario

Pool heater install on a rainy Saturday. Took a few extra minutes to paint the iron pipe in the pool shed, even though it’s not technically required. I’d like to make sure this install lasts given the close proximity to the pool equipment. Tracpipe underground gas line was a must to avoid some underground electrical and downspout drainpipe. I didn’t touch the electrical on this one, but it could definitely use a little attention. #gastechnician #naturalgas #londonontario #electrician

I went to this job to hook up a garage heater, correcting some other issues along the way. There a few things wrong in the before pictures. Indoor shut offs that are used outdoor will crack and fall apart after exposure. The iron wasn’t painted, leading it to rust out. The 1/2 copper was crushed when they tried to bend it. A tankless boiler system install. The hardest part of this install was troubleshooting all the zone valves from the previous unit. They had been wired in parallel, meaning that if a thermostat in one part of the building was calling for heat, all valves opened at the same time, sending heat to areas that didn’t need it. After isolating the heating zones and hooking up the appropriate thermostat, the system functions as it should. #gastechnician #naturalgas #londonontario
