Just for today, I will be grateful.
Our true purpose is to see things as they are, to observe things as they are, and to let everything go as it goes. Reiki practice is to open up our small mind to the eternal. https://www.youtube.com/watch
Just for today, I will not worry.
If You Love, Love Openly (February student koan) Twenty monks and one nun, named Eshun, were practising meditation with a certain Zen teacher. Eshun was very beautiful even though her head was shaved and her dress modest, several monks secretly fell in love with her. One of them wrote her a love letter that insisted upon a private rendezvous.... Eshun did not reply. The following day their master gave a lecture to the group, and when it was over, Eshun arose. She spoke to the one who had written to her, saying: "If you really love me so much, come and embrace me now."

Just for today, I will rest in the peace of peace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vqCbb-xr6w
Just for today, I will let go of anger.
Three Kinds of Disciples (January Student Koan) The Zen master Tsuji Gettan Sukeshige lived during the Tokugawa era. He used to say: "There are three kinds of disciples: Those who impart Zen to others, those who maintain the temples and shrines, and then there are the rice bags and the clothes hangers."... Gasan expressed the same idea. When he studied under the strict and very severe teacher Tekisui Giboku. Sometimes Tekisui even yelled and belittled Gasan. While other students could not stand this manner of teaching and quit, Gasan remained saying: "A poor student takes advantage of a teacher's influence. A fair pupil admires a teacher's kindness. A good disciple grows strong under a teacher's discipline."
True Friends (March Student Koan) A long time ago there were two friends, one who played the harp skilfully and the other who listened skilfully. When the one played or sang about a mountain, the other would say: "I can see the mountain before us." When the other played about water, the listener would exclaim: "Here before us is a running stream!"... But the listener fell sick and died. Her friend snapped the strings of her harp and never played again. Since that time the cutting of harp strings has been a sign of intimate friendship.
