Monday March 15th we open our doors for the season. We have soil, fertilizer and seeds.... so many seed company choices for you. Lindenberg, Livingston, McKenzie, Burpee and Seeds of Change offer seed tape, coated, organic and heirloom varieties just waiting for you.

Spring is close so we are OPENING March 15th. Today lets talk about Peonies. In the greenhouse we will be planting roots at the end of March. Out of the 100's of varieties available we have chosen our favourite 15 to showcase this year. Available in white/peach/deep red/yellow/magenta and pink they are a very easy care, long lived perennial that loves the sun and when they are done blooming still have a lovely bush form. It is important to start with a mature plant if you do not want to wait years for blooms, which is why we only sell plants that have strong roots and are started with mature root stock. Keons peonies should be ready for you to take home mid to late April.

What is the difference between an ANNUAL and a PERENNIAL? Annuals die when frost hits but although a Perennial loses its top growth for winter the roots produce a new plant every spring. Perennials can add beauty and grace to a spot for many years. At Keon's we grow our perennials right here, usually from 1-2 year old roots so you are getting a good, strong plant that is hardy to live in our plant zone. Every day our trained gardeners water, inspect, trim and care for the plants until they are ready to go home with you. We grow over 400 varieties of hardy perennials sorted into sun or shade, dry or wet areas with staff always available to help you make the perfect choice.
