Tammy Kerrivan is a local Nova Scotia artist and has lived here all her life... She has very generously donated this beautiful original 16x20 Acrylic on canvas to our "Jazz" fund. We are offering it up for auction in order to help us raise funds to pay for Jazz's vet bills at the Atlantic Veterinary College. Please help out by placing a bid and SHARING!! Thank you

Keough lane stables is looking for a couple of great people to add to our team. 2/3 afternoons per week, approximately 3 to 4 hours. Wednesdays and Fridays to start and possibly one other day. Competitive wages and or riding time. We have a small private barn where our horses live out most of the time. Duties include paddock pick up daily, hay, water, preparing feed and general barn maintenance and tidying. Experience driving a tractor is a bonus!! Horse experience is required. We work in teams of 2 to 3 people daily so that chores are done quickly and where we are primarily outside, candidates must be prepared for all weather. Located on Keough Lane; just off Windgate drive in Windsor Junction. P.m. for more details

Hi everyone. Some of us have met Jazz... She doesn't take long to work her way into your heart She and Dancer arrived a week ago ...a friend of a friend was looking for a home for them. Late last week Jazz started showing signs of discomfort and stress. We spoke to our vet and were managing her care. Saturday she went downhill fast. We called Avon and they came immediately and we determined that Jazz had a pretty large impaction in her bowel. We hooked up the traile...r and I rushed her to PEI. The cost of this venture is very real. $1800 to date at the hospital. Their owner has borrowed $$ to cover the bill at AVC. She took an advance on her paycheck to cover the bill from Avon Animal Hospital. I know that our KLS family has big hearts and the ability to help others in need. We have started a fundraiser within our barn to help cover the hospital bills. To date our little barn family has raised $1750!!!! I am so proud to be part of this community <3 One of our parents owns a waste disposal company and they have donated a bin and removal service for us to auction off.. Please see the photo below and if you are interested in bidding, please post in the comments. Anyone who is interested in donating can etransfer funds to [email protected] which will auto deposit funds into a separate bank account. Anyone who can donate will be so so appreciated. Let's all say a prayer for Jazz and hope for her full recovery. And let's open our hearts to this beautiful girl... Thanks See more

If you give your child a pony, they will want to ride. You’ll buy them the best pony you can find, followed by a hat, boots and all the other things pony. You ...look for a local stables to ride at where you start to socialise with the horsey community...and then life as you know it, will end. Before you know it, they want to go to shows so you join BS there will be no more lazy weekends watching TV. You will see more sunrises than you ever thought possible. Every spare minute of your time will be spent driving horseboxes and enduring a crazy addiction to practice for the next show. Your house may be a mess, and your car will be dirty. All because you gave your child a pony. Your weekends will be spent freezing or burning to death on a fold up chair. And their weekends will be spent gaining confidence and friends, learning new skills and having fun and getting dirty!!!! You will be there the day he or she takes the first few steps of canter, the first taste of a jump, first rosette, first win. And they will make you SO proud. Other parents will congratulate you, but you feel weird saying thank you because it's not you on the pony, it’s your child. It's everything that they did, they achieved. And right before your eyes, your little boy/girl will be transformed from the baby who bounced around on their rocking horse into an exceptional young horse enthusiast on the hunt for the next HOYS ticket or maybe even the Olympics! When you give your child a pony, you give them more than just something to ride. You give them a sport, a talent, hope and dreams. Friends, a new family, a place to learn about life, room to grow as a person where they can push their limits, and bravery, and courage, and memories. And they will have ALL of these things, simply because you gave your child a pony. Because you gave your child a pony, you too will develop new/lifelong friendships, developed solely from the same passion for the sport. You will have an equestrian family because you gave your child a pony. Then one day, many years from todaythey will be in their room and a certain trophy will catch their eye. And they will pick it up and realise instantly that when you gave them a pony, you also gave them a childhood that they would never forget. At this point, you realise that everything you gave up along the way and sacrificed was totally worth it.. All because you gave your child a pony...
