Jute hanger on this 5 3/4 x 10 1/2" garden sign. Extra sealer coats for outdoors.$20
A few projects I've finished over the past two or so weeks.
Well, just finished another milkcan, this one for the same client as the last one, and the same graphics, except for the addition of my rendition of their family farmstead sign that I painted on the back of the can. Now that the client has seen it, he is bringing the first can back for me to do the same on the back of it too. In total a 2 month long project. Making productive covid time!!
An old milkcan, and a framed painting that was from a photo of a homestead farm. Add in a family crest. My job was to re-create the family crest on the lid of the milkcan, and the barn scene on the body of the can. I chose a medium beige acrylic and painted a black ''frame'' to compliment the colours in the scene. I wanted definate peremeters to the project, just as the framed painting has. If you look close there's field crops on both sides, thus the need for a definate ''stop'' to each side of the work. It's been a long process getting this done, and I got 2 coats of clear sealer on today and I'm pleased with the final result.
And finally, a project I just finished the other day for a friend's daughter...an antique wooden ironing board....re-purposed into a porch sign....and not without a ''touch'' of comedy. The first photo shows the letters I drew, cut out and placed on the board for measurement and asctetics purposes for final decisions by the client. The others show the finished board...painted in a distressed off white, serifs added to the letters, the "O" turned into a wreath, as well as a close up of the "O" which can be covered or added to seasonally as preferred.
