Keto 1.0 Bread

Not only is it back in Save On Foods, it's on SALE! Should be in most locations across Western Canada (excluding maybe Medicine Hat or Saskatoon). With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many families may gather in small groups to give thanks and enjoy Chicken or a small Turkey - and what goes great with Chicken/Turkey: STUFFING! With Keto1.0 Bread, it's an easy, lower carb solution. A good friend of our growing Keto1.0 family has shared her old family recipe that is tweaked with this bread - we're excited to try it as well! Stuffing: 8 pieces of Keto1.0 bread, toasted and left out to stale. (This took about 3 full d...ays) 2 pork and apple sausage links from SaveOn fresh case (remove casing and crumble meat) cup cranberries (fresh or frozen or dried is fine) 1 med. onion diced 1 Granny Smith Apple peeled, cored and cubed 1/3 cup butter 2 tsp. Poultry seasoning tsp. Dry Mustard tsp. Dry parsley 1 & cup of bird drippings and/or chicken broth. (This should be warmed up if you’re using broth) Cube dried bread slices into 1cm cubes. A few slices of bread smaller cubes, almost like crumbles. In a large saucepan/or high edge frying pan (with lid), sauté onion, sausage meat and cranberries on med high (add a little olive oil if needed. Once sausage is cooked through and onion is soft, add 1/3 cup butter and let melt, until bubbly. Add poultry seasoning, dry mustard, and parsley to sausage/onion mix, let cook for additional minute. Add bread crumbles/cubes to saucepan, combine thoroughly. Let cook for 3-4 mins, stirring every min. Slowly add drippings/stock, ensuring it is well combined. Remove from heat. Cover, let sit for 10 mins. Recipe adjustments; Some may enjoy celery or mushrooms or not enjoy apples and cranberries. Some may prefer saje in place of dry mustard. I also add chia seeds or pumpkin seeds or pecans if I have them in the house and need to use them up. It’s all to your taste! Serves 8
