There are several people in the keto community that are promoting the myth that sweeteners, even zero calories natural sweeteners, will raise insulin. This is n...ot true. Zero calories sweeteners (especially the natural ones we recommend like pure stevia, erythritol, monk fruit and allulose) do not impact blood glucose or insulin in people in general. This study shows that. https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/112/4/1002/5872362 Ingestion of LES, administered alone or in combination with a nutrient-containing preload, has no acute effects on the mean change in postprandial glycemic or insulinemic responses compared with a control intervention. Some people may see a small rise in glucose if they are sensitive to a sweetener and ingest it (just like will happen with anything you are sensitive to and you eat it like dairy, etc). But the vast majority of people it has no effect on glucose or insulin.
