I often get asked how much one would need towards a down payment when buying a home. It all depends on the house you're looking for. Once you start working with a mortgage advisor, they will assess your situation and guide you on how much you can afford and how much you'll need to pay towards the down payment. For example. if you're purchasing a home under $500,000, you'll need at least 5% of the purchase price available, so that's $25,000. A couple of things to keep in mind when checking out a kitchen: Any appliance malfunctions should be listed in the disclosure statement, but if you want to be safe, conduct your own assessment and have your agent contact the seller’s agent for more information if you note any problems.
