Been staying away from bears but thought I would give one a go today. It's heading in the right direction but needs lots of work yet.
This full figured crow started as an attempt at a fox. That didn't go so well I guess it was a crow in fox clothing. No feet on this one it is standing in a puddle. Inspiration came from watching crows today coming and going from a puddle out front. Sometimes drinking other times dipping something in the water.
This one is coming along nicely. First owl in in a few months.
Got a start on this one today. A smaller version. Trying to get a start on a few with detailing to come. I hope the temps. start to leave the winter zone.
Another in the crow series. This one is full on raven sized. Inspiration today came from watching three crows chase off a raven today only to have an eagle take the ravens place and all this from the front verandah. Guess that means an eagle is in my near future to keep working the inspiration.
This eagle is coming along. Some more saw work then details of eyes and feet.
Got some colour on these old crows today. A little before and after photo compassion. Still have some finish work to do and then they are on to new homes.
The murder of crows is growing nicely. Going to spend some time drying before finishing carving and paint.
Getting a little farther along with these, two of the three I blocked out yesterday. Crows are a hit and why wouldn't they be such an intriguing bird. If you are interested in one send me a message.
Got a jump on crow orders today. Tried a different pose for this one. Still needs details and some drying before paint. All in all I'm quite happy with it.
Got this one glued up today. Getting closer to finishing this one then on to crows.
Something a little different, not much chainsaw involved here. Somewhat of an ode to my grandparents on the MacDonald side. Burls from a spruce tree from my mother's land.
Picked the saw up for the first time in a few weeks. Got a jump in a pair of ravens. Some more detailing, a burning and some colour. The second is blocked out and ready for a tuning.
