MORNING COFFEE . . Catch me sipping on my absolutely jacked Bulletproof coffee each morning .... . I currently don’t have my bulletproof brand coffee but I’m stopping for some later! Other than that this coffee is perfect . . 1. I add a heaping tablespoon of collagen powder to add 9 grams of protein per cup . . 2. A tablespoon of MCT oil for its ability to cross the Blood Brain Barrier and protect the brain and it’s cells . . 3. I’ve recently started adding a 10 mushroom shield blend by Four Sigmatic to support immune function, reduce stress and counteract the caffeine . . 4. 1oz of Grass fed butter for fat soluble vitamins like A and D and for it’s omegas . . 5. Ceylon Cinnamon- a dash for its anti-inflammatory properties and to add a calming smell/taste . . 6. Maple Syrup is certainly optional but if you only use just a teaspoon you will boost the anti-oxidant properties as well as give it a slight sweetness which I can imagine everyone would enjoy especially if you’re used to white sugar. I also believe that eating the foods native to where you live can have health benefits too! So as a Canadian I always choose maple syrup as my sweetener but since it’s soooo sweet you only need the smallest amount! . . I’m literally obsessed and can’t wait to wake up every morning to have one. Not only do they taste better than a normal coffee but they look beautiful as the butter froths perfectly once blended and it’s a truly healthy . . It makes me feel good knowing that I’m able to enjoy a hot cup of Joe without guilt or worry that it may be affecting my health negatively since there is so much out there on whether coffee is good or bad . . At the end of the day we’re all different, coffee may not be your thing and that’s okay... I’m sure those people will find a way to create a crazy matcha drink of sorts that might even just blow my jacked up bulletproof coffee out of the water! . . DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) . . DHA is an Omega-3 fatty acid and is crucial for the proper development of our brain, skin and eyes .... . DHA can be made from ALA (alpha-lipoic acid), an acid that we make naturally and can be found in foods like broccoli, potatoes, yams, organ meats, beets and rice bran however it may not be easily convertible in people. DHA may also come human milk, fish oils or algae oil . . I personally love fish oils and omega supplements but you can’t just buy any kind! If there is any supplement where quality truly matters it’s with omega-3 supplements . . I use a higher DHA to EPA ratio when I look for Omega-3 supplements specifically for improving brain function but also for its preventative properties against cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, arthritis and Alzheimer’s. A higher ratio of EPA is still great as it has potent anti-inflammatory properties! . . I recommend looking into a good fish oil or omega 3 supplement that works form you! . .
