Happy #EarthDay! Today, people across the globe celebrate our planet and we reaffirm our commitment to tackling the climate crisis. In Ontario, we have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to be vigilant in protecting. That's why I will continue to fight to protect our environment from this government's anti-environment crusade. Premier Ford has already tried multiple times to carve up the Greenbelt for developers, gutted conservation authorities, paid hundreds of millions of dollars to tear down wind farm projects, cancelled Ontario’s cap-and-trade program and even paid to have electric vehicle charging stations removed. Ontarians deserve a government with a plan to beat the climate crisis. And so does the next generation.

#COVID19 and it’s variants are hitting us hard. Right now, we only have 8 pharmacies per 100,000 residents in Brampton. This is unacceptable, and I will continue to push for a much needed increase in the allocation of vaccines for pharmacies in Brampton.

What an incredible disappointment that this government is still refusing to give Ontarians the support they urgently need to stop the spread of #COVID19 in our communities.

Today, we asked this government to pass three bills that will help stop the spread of #COVID19 and give working folks and vulnerable people in care more help to get through this pandemic. - The Stay Home if You Are Sick Act will give workers paid sick days during the pandemic, as well as permanent paid sick days. - The Time to Care Act for will guarantee a minimum of 4.1 hours of hands on care per long-term care resident per day by adding staff to the long-term care system. -... The More Than a Visitor Act will guarantee that essential caregivers can’t be separated from the loved ones that need their help in long-term care and other congregate care settings. These three bills are part of our package of solutions to to help everyday families, vulnerable people in care, working folks and small businesses get through this.

Happy #LunarNewYear! As we ring in the Year of the Ox, I encourage everyone to practice social distancing and celebrate only with your immediate family, so that next year we can return to celebrating all together. I wish everyone health, happiness, good fortune, and prosperity in the New Year!

Throwback to #BlackHistoryMonth pre-COVID! Thank you to all the amazing organizations that work year after year to make this month so meaningful, and continue to work throughout this pandemic to honour the many achievements and contributions of Black Ontarians.

So many families in Peel are reeling from the impact of the pandemic and struggling to hold on, yet auto insurers have raked in an extra $2.7 BILLION during the pandemic. Instead of putting Peel families first, the Ford government has let wealthy insurance corporations gouge drivers. As the new critic for Auto Insurance, I look forward to continuing our fight to get the Ford government to prioritize fairness and affordability for Peel families, who continue to pay the highest auto insurance rates in the province.

NDP MPPs Sara Singh (Brampton Centre), Kevin Yarde (Brampton North) and Gurratan Singh (Brampton East) will discuss how the Ford government is putting residents of Peel at risk by refusing to fund a new Brampton hospital. Ontario’s budget has no money for a new hospital for Brampton, and no money for the expansion of Peel Memorial, which means Doug Ford is leaving Brampton on its own despite the desperate hospital capacity exposed again by the pandemic.

This headline illustrates how badly the Premier has failed to protect the people of #Brampton from the COVID-19 pandemic. His refusal to invest in our public health care when we need it the most is putting people’s lives in danger. We desperately need more help. More testing centres, more contact tracing and more hospital capacity! https://www.cp24.com//brampton-s-ne-corner-tops-list-of-gt

Wishing everyone a very joyous #Diwali and #BandiChhorDivas! Let's celebrate safely this year by listening to Peel Public Health and getting together only with immediate family members, so that next year, we will all be able to celebrate together.

Happy #HinduHeritageMonth! In 2016, the Government of Ontario declared the month of November each year as Hindu Heritage Month - let us take this opportunity to celebrate and learn about the achievements of the Hindu community and the important role that they have and continue to play in communities across Ontario.

Although we will be commemorating Remembrance Day a little differently this year, we will never forget the brave men and women who gave their lives serving Canadians and protecting freedom across the world. Thank you for your sacrifice. #LestWeForget #CanadaRemembers

My motion calling for IMMEDIATE provincial support to help Peel fight #COVID19 passed almost 2 months ago - but we have yet to see a single dollar despite cases continuing to rise in #Brampton. We need to: - listen to the science and the experts - invest in Peel Public Health and contact tracing reinforcement... - bring down class sizes - provide needed COVID-19 relief for people and small businesses in Peel See more
