Hello again KEY Students and Parents, It’s no secret that this past year, for the Class of 2022 (those Grade 12s who graduated in 2018) this was the most competitive year for US college admissions. Many universities, saw their acceptance rates drop. All eight Ivy League universities had their admissions drop with the highest acceptance rate being that of Cornell at 10.3%. (I would expect that all Ivy League acceptance rates for this current admissions cycle will fall below 10...% for the very first time in history.) College Kickstart posted yesterday a list of universities that saw declines in their overall acceptance rates. Some of the results were significant. You can see the results here: https://www.college-kickstart.com//notable-admission-rate- So, what does this news mean to you? For those who are looking to attend college in the US, it is getting more and more competitive each year with declining acceptances. This is why it’s so crucial for you to be focusing on your academics and your profile to ensure that: 1) You meet the academic requirements of the universities to which you are applying 2) You have a stand-out profile of unique and relevant activities. Not only do you have to be a strong academic performer, but also you need to have developed your pointiness that is, a set of really well-developed activities that differentiates you from other students while demonstrating your focused passion. Let us know if you have any questions. Best, Bryan Idea KEY Education Director and Co-Founder
