I can think of several guys this could affect, but I know there has to be hundreds in Saskatoon alone.

I am "pro" anything that can help a person audit and maintain a system for their keys. Keys are one item you will likely have to carry for a large percentage of your life, may as well have a dedicated system to keep them.

A very big, and very common problem. Just because a guy talks the talk, and has shiny tools and a new van, does not mean he can walk the walk. The only true way to protect yourself, and even then it can be problematic, is to have every detail specified in writing, regardless of the time and effort required in writing it up. As a locksmith, I use a small butane and or a small propane torch, lightly touch the face of the lock cylinder, you will visibly see the moisture sweat out of the cylinder, periodically gently try key. Use caution. Once open, the entire lock cylinder on the inside of the door can be seen, lightly torch the lock until it is done sweating, and is warm to the touch, it should be dry then. Cold weather is coming, door closers will stiffen and slow the closing of doors, any humidity or moisture in the air can freeze and stiffen or seize locks. You will notice if your weather stripping is worn or not as the air gets cold, by how much light you can see from outside when your door is closed, and should be sealed. Time for routine servicing of doors, closers, hardware and weather stripping.

Now THIS is more like winter. This is the time of year doors will close slower, and sometimes not at all. Doors need to be free of obstruction to operate proper, that includes all ice and snow. Snow tends to melt, then freeze again quickly when it comes in contact with the door or frame or thresh hold, creating almost invisible to see obstructions, be vigilante, and keep a vehicle snow brush handy.

With fluctuating temperatures at this time of the year, it quite often leads to humidity/condensation in your key ways to the point that your pins and cylinder can actually get wet internally, be aware that should your key suddenly stop operating your lock, the likely reason is the moisture in your lock has frozen.

There's a first for everything, should you find yourself locked out of your apartment because your keys suddenly stopped working, step 1: make sure you are on correct floor. step 2: make sure you are using your keys on your actual suite door. Should both steps prove the suite is yours, and you still can't get in, call Keyman. Otherwise, apologize to your neighbor for trying to get into their suite, and go back to your own. That is all.

-30c and colder, if you have a steel door and frozen locks, a propane torch can be your best friend, for residential locks and doors, a hair blow drier or heat gun. Be wary, be careful, if you're unsure, then don't use the torch, call Keyman.

For this project, the customer needed a way to hold the door open in a way that would not be harmful to the door or the frame. Keyman Locksmith fabricated an anchor post that was fastened to the ground by installing mason bolts. Nuts were used to tie the door holder down firmly and securely.

For this project, the customer required a double wide door and frame installed. For security reasons, the original door and frame had to remain functioning while the new frame was being built about eighteen inches behind it. Once the new frame was completed, the original door and frame were removed and demolished.

For this project, the customer required a gas line running through a parkade to be rerouted around the parkade to allow the parkade to be renovated. *All welds performed with 6010 root, 7018 fill and cap.*

For this project, the customer required a four inch stainless steel stainless steel square tubing frame for unloading product installed.

For this project, the customer required the fabrication of a stainless steel conveyor belt.

For this project, the customer had a manway through a concrete wall that was required to be separated. Keyman Locksmith therefored installed a commercial shutter door.
