Dear Students and Parents It is with a heavy heart that I write to you, the parents and family of my piano students. Last week, I wrote to you with the plan to restart piano lessons, as scheduled after the March break. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing health concerns around the spread of COVID-19, I’ve had to reconsider that position. This is a very uncertain time for the whole world, and I cannot, in good conscience go against proven clinical and government advice to limi...t social interaction as much as possible. This means that until further notice, there will be no in person lessons from myself. We will resume, once we have been given the green light from health authorities. I’ve thought long and hard about how to continue learning for my students, some of whom have come so far since we started. I’ve decided that I will be to starting on-line lessons in a staged approach. This will start with some of the older students as a test run. This will be new for all of us and I ask for your patience as we navigate this new learning tool. Younger students (under 7) will be offered this method, but please keep in mind, they will need support from parents to help them through the lesson. I ask from you, to let me know if this mode of learning is of interest to you. If not, I totally understand and we will keep in contact until in person lessons resume. Thank you for being a great community. I count it a blessing to be a part of your family’s learning and an honour to teach you something I love. As always, do not hesitate to get in contact with me if you want to discuss anything! Best regards, Cheryce
Dear Students and Parents Due to the recent developments within the community, I wanted to write to you to give you an update on my plans in response to COVID-19 virus. I want to assure you that the health and safety of my students and their families is my priority. ... Those who take lessons in my home may have noticed that from last week I have begun to take precautions by sanitising the piano after each student and asking the students to use alcohol gel. I understand that while schools and other recreational facilities have closed for the next 3 weeks, I have decided to keep the music school open after March break, unless I am advised otherwise by Health authorities. This decision has been made due to the fact that all lessons are private and are in my own home, or at the home of the student. I do want to keep the continuity of learning for my students. In order to keep things going I am asking for everyone, parents and students to adhere to the following protocols. Mandatory hand washing and sanitizing before each lesson Please let me know if anyone in your family has travelled outside Canada within the last 2 weeks, if so, I am asking you to not come to lessons for 2 weeks. Any students not well, especially with a fever to not attend classes Inform me immediately if your child or a family member has had or has had contact with COVID 19 within the last 14 days I am keeping abreast of the news daily and will inform you if anything changes in regards to the school being open after March break. I will be making time available after the March break and throughout April to provide as many make up lessons for those who have missed lessons. Please contact me personally if you have any comments or concerns.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year! Lessons start back this week. See you all soon!
Only 2 weeks left before lessons starts!
Keynotes Piano School is now taking new registrations for September 2019. Only few spaces left, give me a call today and get started on an exciting journey with music!
My first term has come to end and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I've met some pretty brilliant students who have excelled at piano, most of whom are taking lessons for the first time. I must admit, getting them read notes is more exciting for me than for them! Get ready for September and sign up now before all the slots are filled! Have a great summer!
There is no better feeling than seeing a child smile to themselves when they play a song for the first time! #Iloveteachingpiano #readingnotes
When is it too young to start? It's always good to encourage young children to experiement and be comfortable with music!
Playing at my cousin's funeral.
