One of my all-time favourite performers Rick Scott Rickscottentertainment -- no matter for evening or day time audiences -- is offering a live-stream Family Concert LIVE from the Port Theatre in Nanaimo on Sunday April 18. Rick and Nico were here a couple of years ago and the Golden Civic Centre was vibrating with fun and laughter. Grab some good broadband internet and your family bubble and have a wonderful hour!
Very excited to share the news of the Cantle Family Youth Arts Award. Parents, grandparents take a look too just in case that special person in your family needs a helpful nudge. Apologies to the wonderful folks that we missed in our first round of credits at the end of the movie. To see the updated version with a full list of credits, watch here: https://vimeo.com/511716133
Here's what's happening in AGOG this month ... Jamie Kroeger's exhibit A Part of Place.
Snow King and Lady Spring have returned to the valley! Since it’s not safe for the great big crowd of wild and silly creatures to gather in Spirit Square this year, we are pleased to present Snow King and Lady Spring to the valley, virtually! Thanks to the wild and silly creatures who made this movie possible. Apologies to the wonderful folks that we missed in our first round of credits at the end of the movie. Open Letter to the Editor/Ace Reporter for the Golden Star, Claire Palmer from the Wild & Silly Creatures of the Valley. Thank you for attending our last meeting on February 6 and writing about us in your newspaper. Most of our wild & silly creatures cannot read, so it was with great delight that I read to them your article in this week's newspaper. There was loud excitement expressed by members of our group when I read out their names -- even though some grumbled that they f...elt their words were not quite accurately reported. (I thought you did a wonderful job given all the whistles, grunts, purrs, hoots, howls, shrieks, and snorts!) Regardless, there was great joy expressed that our efforts were printed up in the newspaper. Pack Rat, however, did have some concern that perhaps the Conservation Officer was now looking for him given that he has yet to return the shiny camera thingy. In his defence, he has done an amazing job of taking everyone's pictures and putting them into a movie that we will premier at 7pm this Saturday evening February 13. (Hint: the shiny camera thingy is in his den - if you can find it.) So, if you would be so kind Ms. Palmer, please tell all the humans of the valley of the premier of our movie "Snow King and Lady Spring Come Back to the Valley!" We're told that Kicking Horse Culture will have it available to watch on their website and right here on their Facebook page ... live at 7pm Saturday night! Meanwhile, we hope to see you all out and about on the trails when the weather gets warmer and we will continue to practice our wild and silliness in the hopes that we may see you all again next year in the Snow King's Castle. Yours in playfulness, Scribe (aka Skunk)
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Wild & Silly Creatures announce the Premiere of their MaskedParade Movie! As I reported in the Minutes of our last meeting on January 20, says Scribe loudly as he tries to quieten the assembled wild & silly creatures of the valley gathered in the circle around the fire, it seems that Pack Rat did not give the shiny camera thingy back to the human er who lost it. I am going to give it back, Pack Rat said but I have a really, really, ...really good reason for not giving it back yet. Owl, still known for her wisdom, said Yes, in this instance just this once we must forgive Pack Rat. One might say that Pack Rat has indeed contributed ah, to the greater good, by putting the shiny camera thingy to good use instead of just hoarding it for himself in his nest! Fluffing up her feathers, Owl continued He took some very nice pictures of me. Me too, said Moose from the back of the crowd. And me, said Heron. And me, said Bear. Dog said, Me too. I looked really good. All the wild and silly creatures whistled, grunted, purred, hooted, howled, shrieked and snorted in agreement. And what are you going to do with all those pictures? asked ace reporter Claire Palmer covering the meeting for The Golden Star.
