Come and learn ALL you ever wanted to know about hooves and hoof care! Without a hoof we don't have a horse. The feet are SO important and as therapists we need to recognize body ailments, and misalignments that may have originated with imbalances or pathology the feet. We also need to be able to recommend and/or comment on a good and healthy hoof. Kheiron College will give you an introduction into Hoof Care for both barefoot and shod horses and teach you how to recognize pos...itive and negative examples of both. This is not a course in how to trim or be a farrier, but how to care for your horse from the feet up! In this topic, students will: Identify proper hoof balance, in and out of shoes. Identify proper hoof function, bio mechanics and learn about the benefits of barefoot trimming as well as when to use shoes.
