Kingsville Historical Park Museum is continually being supported financially by the receipts from the activity of the Paradise Bingo Centre. This income generated by patrons, customers, the Paradise Gaming Centre, Association and the Bingo Coordinator is very greatly appreciated. This revenue covers many of our immediate operating expenses and allows the continued maintenance of the Museum. We are fortunate to be involved with the Paradise Gaming Centre and the continuing support of the Museum by all those involved, Thank you.
HELP! These medals were donated to the Museum and we're looking for information about Captain G.C. Fogal.
Passing of Pte. Billy Kennedy Wm. H. Kennedy, one of our townboys, met with an accident near London Military Hospital on Sunday last, which he shortly afterwards died. Private Kennedy enlisted and went overseas with the first contingent, and was at Mons at the signing of the armistice. During the war he was in the transport service, and was both gassed and shell-shocked. He was in hospital for several months, and could have returned home, but when got on his feet once more,... he refused to leave, preferring to stay and see the business cleaned up. He must have had a wonderful constitution to stand all the hardship of a five-years warfare and come out alive. At the close of the war, he came back with the boys, but his eyes were in a very bad condition, and he was detained at the military hospital in Cobourg until April of this year, when the hospital closed, and he, with others, was transferred to London. He was improving, and was able to be out and around the hospital grounds Sunday, he and his comrades were out gathering wild flowers, and he walked over to the railway track nearby, just as a car was approaching and had stepped on the track when the car was only a short distance away. The motorman threw on the brakes, but not in time to avoid the accident. Billy was taken to the hospital, but only survived a short time. Kennedy's page from the First World War Book of Remembrance located in the Memorial Chamber in the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill, Ottawa.
Bells in communities across Canada will chime 100 times as the sun slips under the horizon this Remembrance Day Sunday to mark each year since the armistice
Today is Aboriginal Veterans Day. Its a day when all Canadians proudly honour and remember the First Nations, Inuit and Métis members who have served in uniform. #CanadaRemembers
Thank you to the patrons and Paradise Gaming Centre for funds that are being received by the Kingsville Historical Park Museum, a volunteer organization of the Centre. During Covid we have been closed to the public and other fund raising activities are nonexistent, so the money received from Bingo endeavours has been very gladly received. Invoices did not and will not take a Covid break but because of the patrons, customers, the Paradise Gaming Centre, Association and the Bingo Coordinator the bills are being paid. We are fortunate to be involved with the Paradise Gaming Centre.
Kingsville Historical Park Museum Members and Volunteers wish to thank Paradise Gaming Centre for their support.
