Our theme this year is Something New. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19) These are certainly challenging times, but what if God is doing something new? Can you see God’s hand in your ministry? The workshops we’re offering and Beth’s keynote topics will challenge you to think about things in a new way.

Meet Nicki Straza!! Nicki’s passion and energy are contagious as she brings over 20 years of kids ministry experience to the table. She believes that kids in ministry become adults in ministry and believes her destiny lies in helping kids young and old understand and walk in the revelation of who they are in Christ. She is the author of Superhero In Me, a workshop based program designed for public school classrooms that empowers kids to change their world using kindness. She ...is a curriculum writer and program developer with a heart to teach kids how to think and live their lives with Kingdom identity and Holy Spirit anointing. She is currently the Youth & Family Engagement Lead at Woodview Children’s Mental Health & Autism Services. She is a regular contributing writer for www.kidology.org and Kidzmatter magazine She has two adult children and lives with her husband in Brantford, City of God!

How is your church dealing with the new announcements this week?

Meet Natalie Frisk!! Natalie is lead pastor at The Meeting House Brantford, as well as curriculum pastor for One Story kids and youth curriculum. She is author of Raising Disciples: How to Make Faith Matter for Our Kids. Natalie is presently working on her doctorate in practical theology with an emphasis on the spiritual experience of children. She is married to Sam and mom to Erin.

Meet Hilary Hawley! Hilary has been leading in kid’s ministry for over 25 years and can’t imagine spending life doing anything else. She is dedicated to providing kids with an opportunity to discover Jesus’ love for themselves and is excited to play a part in shaping the next generation of God’s family. She currently spearheads Creekside Church’s family outreach programs and oversees Sunday morning volunteer teams at their Waterloo campus. She is passionate about connecting people to ministry roles. When she’s not doing kid’s ministry, you’ll find her reading cookbooks, looking for recipes to try out on her unsuspecting husband and kids. Travelling to every continent is at the top of her bucket list.

Meet Mollee Moya! Mollee has been involved with children’s ministry ever since she was in high school! Her passion for children’s ministry, event planning and the church has led to her being involved in a number of roles from Sunday School teacher to Christian Education director. Mollee is married to John and has four boys between the ages of 3 and 9. She is currently completing her Masters of Theological Studies at Conrad Grebel University College and works at Mennonite Church Eastern Canada.

Our response to COVID-19 Dear Kid Builders: What unusual times we’re living in right now. We certainly haven’t been through anything on this scale or scope in recent history. In light of the rapid spread of COVID-19 and the closures of many public gatherings and spaces and the restrictions of the government and good sense, we have made the decision to cancel the KidBuilders 2020 conference.... For those that have registered, we will be refunding registration monies in full after May 7th (Eventbrite has frozen our ticket revenue until 5 days after our posted event date due to the COVID virus). We will contact you by e-mail to arrange a method of e-transfer. Our next conference will be scheduled for 2022 in the spring. We will do our best to arrange for Beth Guckenberger to return as we were all looking forward to hearing what God had laid on her heart. Until then, be safe and remember that none of this was a surprise to God. In Paul’s words, so relevant from 2000 years ago For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 So love the kids in your ministry in whatever way you’re able and be the hands and feet of Jesus in these challenging times.
