Goodbye Kiddance Studio I hope this space created many lifelong memories, friendships, and a passion for the art of dance. I’m heartbroken that I’ll never step foot inside the studio again, as well as our students who never got a proper last day in this space. However knowing dance will stay in Carman makes my heart so happy. I am so excited for and proud of Miss Jill for jumping in and following her heart to start her own studio. She wasn’t ready to say goodbye to dance li...ke myself many years ago! I’m so excited to see what she’ll create. Thank you, thank you, thank you for 7 years I will never forget. Our first virtual competition aired this morning and we’re so very proud of each of these dancers. These routines were basically learned over Zoom, they’re dancing on concrete, and it was very last minute filming, but they still did such an incredible job. Please join me in giving Miss Laura a HUGE THANK YOU for the past 2 seasons! We couldn’t have had a better manager to keep us positive & motivated through the craziness & stress of these two dance seasons. It’s not at all what we expected when she took on this role but she completely made the best of it. We are crossing our fingers for some sort of recital, as you do not want to miss Laura’s beautiful and creative choreography. Everyone will miss you, Laura!! We wish you all the best and thank you for keeping dance in Carman!

Exciting news! Miss Jill WILL be opening her own studio and dance will be kept in Carman (and gymnastics!) follow her page for updates!! Jill, I am so proud of you and know you will build an amazing studio!

Memory Lane # 4! Too many pictures to fit into one post! 2018-2019 was Miss Michelle & Miss Kailey’s last year teaching but it was one to remember! (Can you tell we love Halloween?) The studio almost shut down that year but Miss Laura then stepped in as our manager in summer 2019! #kiddancestudio

Memory Lane # 3! In 2017 we moved to our new location in the industrial park which gave us so much more space! Michelle then started our ‘sister company’ The Carman Barre on the upper level of the building so dance and barre classes could happen at the same time. The studio was busy everyday! #kiddancestudio

Memory Lane # 2! In January 2016 we opened our first studio downtown! Did you know Miss Laura used to be a student too, and then taught her first year of contemporary right after high school? In summer 2016 Miss Kailey joined us as ballet instructor & later, assistant director! #kiddancestudio

Memory Lane # 1! We began teaching classes at the elementary school and United church in Carman with a group of just 30 dancers! #kiddancestudio

We are sad to announce that Kiddance Studio will be closing after the 2020-21 season. To all of our students, past & present, instructors, our dance family, and supportive community, THANK YOU for 7 unforgettable years! IMPORTANT!! As you may have already heard, the province proposed the next phase of loosened restrictions that will allow for dance studios to resume group activities at 25% capacity. This is a big step in the right direction for our studios and our dancers. These proposed changes are not yet final. They could come into place all at once next week, or they could be staggered over the next six weeks. To help with the decision making, the province is once again asking Manitoban...s to have their say through an Engage Manitoba Survey. It is so important for studio owners, teachers, and dance families to fill in this survey to ensure the restart of youth activities continues to remain at the top of the priority list. Our childrens’ mental health is at risk: Owners of dance studios in Manitoba are hoping to re-open as they cite concerns over their students’ health.

Section 13 of the current Public Health Order allows Dance Studios to provide 1:1 instruction with 25% capacity and 1 observer per student. This option creates ...a larger number of interactions, with a higher cost to deliver instruction than traditional group classes. The safer option creates a smaller number of interactions, with a lower cost to deliver instruction. Dancers get to work with the same team (cohort) every week.
