Happy 10th Anniversary: Kidney Clinical Research Unit (KCRU), Victoria Hospital Established in 2003 by the Division of Nephrology ‘Improving renal health through innovation, discovery and translation... Dr. Bill Clark pays special recognition to Ms. Margo Linton, wife of Dr. Adam Linton, a nephrologist for whom the dialysis unit at Victoria Hospital is named. Dr. Linton also made important contributions to develop the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. On Nov. 22, research staff, nephrologists and supporters celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Kidney Clinical Research Unit (NRCU), which launched in 2003 under the direction of Dr. Amit Garg. Since 2003, the KCRU has supervised over 100 trainees, published 846 original investigations and coordinated many high-impact studies, including the Walkerton Health Study (Dr. Clark), Novel hemodialysis and its access (Dr. Robert Lindsay, Dr. Moist) and Outcomes of living kidney donation (Dr. Garg). The KCRU will move forward into a new decade under the direction of Dr. Christopher McIntyre. The KCRU wishes to thank all the study participants, research staff, and the LHRI and LHSC for past and continued support.
