We are all heartbroken due to the horrible tragedy in Nova Scotia last week-end. I am calling on all sewers and quilters in the community to help sew lap quilt ...tops. We will be donating these warm loving quilts to the family's of the victims. The quilts will be made in our beautiful Nova Scotian tartan colors. The ladies in the Pictou area with quilting machines offered to do the quilting. Kim Bland made a template of the quilt blocks to make the lap quilts. There will be 4 rows across and 6 rows down. The NS Tartan is represented by 6 colors: Blue of the sea and sky, Green - dark & light of the evergreens and deciduous trees characteristic of the province White - of rocks and coastline surf Gold - of NS Royal Charter Red - Symbolizing the lion rampant on the NS crest These quilts are meant to show love, give confront and just gentle reminder that we all care for all the families mourning from this tragedy. We hope that we can get as many quilters and sewers to help. Donations of fabric, thread, backing or monetary gifts would be greatly appreciated to go towards these items to help warm the families hearts in this hard time. When your quilt top is finished you can mail it to: Glady Knowles Box 825 Pictou, NS B0K 1H0 e-mail: [email protected]

I just received this picture in my messages. Emma purchased a few eye mask kits during this pandemic. I am so proud of you sewing at home! I can't wait to see your finished eye mask! Emma finished her project at home all by herself! I am so proud of you! Great job!
