Province-wide forced shutdown / KidsCanSwim will be reopening on February 1st, 2021 Dear KCS Families, In light of today's announcement from the Province of Ontario, KCS Kanata must once again shut down our Centre as of December 26th, 2020. Though the lockdown is scheduled to end on January 24th, 2021 we will be re-opening KCS Kanata on February 1st 2021 to ensure that our families receive a full month of swimming(4 lessons) in February.... As you may know, KidsCanSwim is a proudly Ottawa-based and owned business. We opened our first location in Kanata on January 4th, 2020, less than 1 year ago! During our first year open, we have been forced to shut-down our business 3 times. Nonetheless, we've persevered and have been incredibly touched by the ongoing and tremendous support of our 300+ families, many of whom have been with us from day 1. Thanks to the resilience of our amazing families and the dedication of our exceptional team, we are incredibly proud of the quality of swimming lessons we've provided and of the KCS community we have built together. Despite everything, we will always look back fondly on the year 2020. To keep things simple and easy for you and your family, our plan is to defer your January swim times into February 2021. You will maintain the same day of the week and time for your lessons as you currently have. Therefore your new start dates will be as follows: - If your lessons were on Mondays, your first class will start on February 1st - If your lessons were on Tuesdays, your first class will start on February 2nd - If your lessons were on Wednesdays, your first class will start on February 3rd - If your lessons were on Thursdays, your first class will start on February 4th - If your lessons were on Fridays, your first class will start on February 5th - If your lessons were on Saturdays, your first class will start on February 6th - If your lessons were on Sundays, your first class will start on February 7th As our January session will be deferred to February, our usually automatic billing system will occur on the last week of January in preparation for February. This means that your monthly tuition will be added on your account on January 26th and your payment will be due before your first lesson in February or as part of the automatic payment which will be processed on February 1st, 2021. If you have already paid for January lessons, the fee you paid for January will be used for February lessons. Dear KCS Families, First and foremost, we want to thank you for your incredible support and the kind words that we have received over the past couple of days. As a locally-owned small business, we are deeply touched by the support of our community and our KCS families. As promised last week, we have taken the time to carefully review the revised public health guidelines announced last Friday. We are pleased to announce that we have adjusted our offerings and that our learn t...o swim programs will be resuming this Thursday October 15th, 2020. Please rest assured that your safety is our priority, that we will always follow the recommended health and safety guidelines and our current safety measures exceed those that the government revised last week. Furthermore, we will continue to strictly follow KCS’ COVID 19 protocols which include; (1) Whenever possible, maintain a physical distance of at least two meters between all occupants at the centre; (2) In accordance with our city by-laws, mandatory mask policy for every guests and team members as well as contact tracing forms; (3) Carefully and diligently clean change-rooms every hour which includes disinfecting common touch surfaces; (4) Stagger start time for both guest and team member to reduce congestion in the centre; (5) Enforce a strict one parent per swimmer rule to reduce overall numbers in the centre; (6) Offer sanitization stations and cleaning products for everyone in the centre. For any families who missed a lesson, we will be in touch with you directly via email. We thank you for your kindness and understanding as we continue to navigate this situation and we look forward to continuing to offer you our premium swimming lessons! Good evening KCS Families, In light of today’s announcement from the Government of Ontario and its health officials related to COVID-19 numbers in the Ottawa region, we have decided to close our Kanata Centre effective at 7PM today. Given how recent this announcement was, we are choosing to close as a precautionary measure while we seek further guidance from health authorities about how the announcement applies to swimming lessons. ... Makeup lessons will be added to your account for any missed classes in October.
