Happy summer everyone! I am approaching the end of my internship. I have learned lots over the 10 weeks and still have so much more to learn! I am not done my work here, but I am done what will be evaluated by my professor. If anyone has a few moments to fill out a survey based on our service, it would be greatly appreciated as I will send it to my professor. If you are a former client, current client, or someone hoping we will expand our services your input would be greatly... appreciated. Enjoy the sunshine https://forms.gle/T3p6WfYdNrwciTgw5
Last and certainly not least... Introducing Jonah Simon! Jonah is the co-owner and the onsite boss! He keeps the boys in line and works hard on the site. Without him, Kids Helping Kids would not exist! ... Outside of work, Jonah loves anything outdoors. He keeps himself busy with building ice shacks, fishing, hunting and spending time out on the lake. Jonah loves Kids Helping Kids because he has a leadership opportunity while working with a great crew. The most common thing Jonah says to me (the indoor boss) is, "hey, sooo, we have a problem. Another thing broke" (we have had a rough season with break downs)
Introducing Ryder Loewen! Ryder is the newest member of our crew. He is a hard worker who can ALWAYS make us laugh. Outside of work, Ryder enjoys working on the farm. ... He enjoyed working for Kids Helping Kids because of the crew he gets to work with! The most common thing Ryder says to the boss it how many more yards?
Introducing Curtis Simon (AKA Dad) I have given my Dad the title of "equipment manager." He always makes sure we are up and running, and then he lets us figure it out! He has been a great support throughout this experience. Outside of work (well Kids Helping Kids work), he is a registered nurse. He enjoys hunting, boating and anything that is outside in the dirt (hence why we used a grad photo he always has a dirt moustache!) ... Dad loves Kids Helping Kids because this business empowers youth. Not only with our donations, but by employing youth! He loves that Kids Helping Kids supports local businesses and gives back to our community. The most common thing Dad says to the boss is, "Yeah, we can do that" (even if we really can't.)
Last week was Nurse Appreciation Week!! I know the nurses in our community are working hard during these difficult times. We decided to deliver a sweet treat to some nurses!! Thanks for all you do!
And that's a wrap!! We still have some aerations to catch up on, but we are all booked up for the year. I am happy to say we have completed all of the cleanups (and I even have all the invoices out! NOTE: the invoice may have went to junk mail. The email it will come from is sage accounting). Thanks for the great year, everyone. We could not have done it without your support.
Introducing Chester Simon! Chester is more of someone who keeps you company than a hard worker. Nevertheless, he is a part of the crew! He spends time with me in the office working on books, or going for car rides to drop off things for the crew! Outside of work, Chester loves to hunt, fetch, swim and be with his Dad. ... The thing Chester loves most about Kids Helping Kids is always having someone around to hang out with. The most common thing Chester says to the boss is, "can we get a doggie Timbit after this?!"
Let’s get back to introducing the crew!! Introducing Adam Vanstone! Adam started working with us from the very start. He was one of the youngest by always tried to keep up. Adam has a great attitude while at work!... Outside of work, Adam enjoys playing hockey and going outside. He loves Kids Helping Kids because we work as a team and get to help others. The most common thing Adam said to the boss is "..." (he's a quiet guy who doesn't ask of too much.)
If you need some painting this year give Jordyn Nachtegaele a call!
Happy Mother’s Day to ALL Mothers out there Where in the world would we be without our Mamas?? I know I drive my mom CRAZYY but without her we’d all be a little crazy. Sending love to all those Mamas today
Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week! Kids Helping Kids wanted to spread a little cheer to some of our teachers. Teachers help shape the people we are. They’ve had a crazy few weeks turning their lesson plans into something that could be taught online. Sending some love to ALL teachers THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!
Congratulations to @Colleen Turgeon-Ouellette who is the winner of our giveaway! If someone could tag her in the comments that would be great! Colleen, message me so I can get your information
Introducing Kyler Grosjean! Kyler has been working for Kids Helping Kids for the past two years and is our youngest employee. Kyler works hard on the site, always trying to keep up with the older boys. Outside of work, Kyler likes to help his Dad around the house and play football. ... Kyler likes Kids Helping Kids cause we are helping out our community with our spring clean-ups! The most common thing Kyler says to the boss is, "where is the next house?". A great sign of a hard worker!
Introducing Matthew Spanier! Matthew is also new to our crew this year. He is learning lots on the job and working hard! Outside of work, Matthew enjoys skiing and music.... Here is Matthew's quote when he was asked why he likes Kids Helping Kids: "I like working with the boys cause when you put 3 stupid people together, they can create 1 good idea." (And that is why we work in a group of 3 -in university this year we learned the value of teamwork and how more brains can create better ideas!) The most common thing Matthew says to the boss is, "when are you going to work?" (The boys like to tease me as I do not work onsite only if they could see the amount of paperwork I have to do!!)
