Happy Tartan Day from all of us at KIK! don’t forget to wear tartan to class this week for a chance to win a For Reel Apparel gift card!
A few photos from some of our Tartan Week Contest entries. The winner of our @forreelapparel gift card draw was Honora! Well done everyone!
Next up from our solo choreography is A, who won the overall award in her category for her creativity and performance! We love her acting and creative hairstyle as well.
We love a bit of history and we've got an amazing photo for you today. This is Annie Deanie King Cochrane. She was born in 1908 at Cluny Lye, Auchterderran, Fife. She was clearly an excellent Highland dancer going by her medals. But did you know she'd have had to compete wearing them all?
Please see our April Newsletter for lots of important info!
Next up from our solo choreography challenge is M! She won the overall award in her category for her creativity and performance. The song is from Disney’s Frozen II
We were happy to have access to the gym these past few weeks to spread out and work on some choreography! The Sr Premiers are working hard on a swing inspired dance called The Roaring 20’s. Happy spring break, see you again on Saturday, April 3rd!
Scots Bluebells working hard on our opening number video project.
Way to go competitive stream dancers! Today we hosted our very first virtual skills showcase and it was so nice to see dancers in their outfits (or the ones that still fit.) Special mention to all our brave dancers who submitted a self-choreographed solo. We will be sharing some of those awesome videos on here over the next while. It’s safe to say we miss competitions and can’t wait to go back again someday, but today was great.
Tomorrow is the last day to submit videos for our solo choreography challenge. We are blown away by the entries we have received so far! How adorable is E dancing to one of her favourite songs by the Go Go’s? Come to our virtual skills showcase on Saturday to watch the dances and see the results.
We successfully held in-person medal tests today! It was so great to see everyone in their costumes showing off all their hard work. Special thanks to @donnacram for giving us the opportunity through being a local examiner.
The Primary competitive class got to try out the sword for the first time with real swords! We think they did pretty well!
Who else is planning their next kilt skate once this cold spell lifts? Don’t forget to tag #kiltskate2021wpg to make us the kilt skate capital of Canada! Pictured here is Grey and M enjoying the balmier weather awhile back.
An empty pub was the perfect setting for K’s choreography video. Keep your submissions coming for our solo choreography challenge, you have until Feb 17th!
Who else likes to sort through their medals and recall all the fun memories that go with them?

One of our favourite funny moments from our recital yesterday. A dance based on the movie Home Alone!
Some highlights from our virtual winter recital yesterday. Everyone danced so well and made the event a success; we couldn’t be more proud. Thank you to all who joined us from your homes, near and far!
