And just like that, we have our Kids’ Lit Quiz National Champion Team: St. Michael’s University School! Congratulations and good luck representing Canada at the World Final in New Zealand! #klqcanada Our second place team was Havergal College and third place was Queen Victoria Public School. After the 4th round of the National Final, Saint Michael’s University School is in the lead with 38 points, Glashan Public School is in 2nd place with 24 points and Queen Victoria Public School is in 3rd place with 22 points. Let’s see what happens in our final round! #klqcanada

Did you know that our National Final follows a different format than the Regional Heats? The Regional Heats have teams write all their answers down on a sheet of paper, which are then scored. Those heats have 10 categories of 10 questions. After each heat the team with the highest score is awarded a book prize. The National Final is 5 categories of 13 questions each, and teams answer in real time by pressing a buzzer and then answering the question out loud. The questions f...or the National Final are also longer, more in-depth and a fair bit harder than the Regional Heat questions as well. We’re pleased to have Glashan Public School, Havergal College, Knoxdale Public School, Lee Academy, Little Flower Academy, Queen Victoria Public School, St. Michael’s University School and University of Toronto Schools participating in the National Final today.

Our National Final starts at 2pm today and our 8 Regional Heat Champions are learning how the buzzers work for the competition. The sport of reading is about to begin! #klqcanada #kidslitquiz
