it's not easy trying to be confident in a world that doesn't value your life. I am so committed to helping black kids confidently show up in the world but confidence is not enough to shield then from hate or ignorance. Our mission is clear: Confident Kids That Appreciate Difference ... Why? Because appreciation of difference is so key to trying to make a change in helping to raise a new generation that is conscious of their bias and is intentional about how they build equity and respect. We purposely don't say we're a black store because we are not a store for only black people. Everyone, regardless of their background can appreciate, cherish and fall in love with black culture and representation. It's important were intentional about ensuring we're learning about others, and respecting difference because woeful ignorance, being color blind, is killing our youth and leaving the one left behind with severe mental and emotional trauma. Please, think of one thing you can do to make a change. Everyone of us holds power and can drive impact. Lean into what you know, who you know and help put an end to this continued senseless trauma.
