What a Mighty God we serve! On Sunday, Pastor Bruce shared an excerpt from Pat Psooy’s compilation ‘Our Father’ specifically on Jehovah Shammah. ‘Jehovah Shammah - The Lord With Us. He is the God who watches, listens, sees, smells, hears, speaks and touches. He is the God who answers -the God who answers before we call, and hears while we are yet speaking. He is the God who serves, He rises to show us compassion. The God who dwells with us, fellowships with us, summons us by name and calls us His own. The God who takes great delight in us, quiets us with His love, and rejoices over us with singing. He will never leave us nor forsake us.’ Amen! When Moses built the altar and called it, The LORD is my banner, he was creating a place of remembrance, a celebration of that victory, and an expression of thanks. He was making a declaration, one that any follower of Jesus can share in today: The LORD is my banner and we are the LORD’s. It was a declaration not just of who God is and what He has done, but of who we are as His people.
