Regularly visiting your dentist for a cleaning and checkup is always a great idea. But issues can still surface in the months between your visits. To prevent long-term problems, you should perform a quick scan of the inside of your mouth every day as part of your dental care routine. Check your gums and teeth for anything unusual. If you do find something out of the ordinary, like bleeding gums or a hole in your teeth, share this information with the dentist at your next appointment. Or call for an appointment to get it looked at. Regular self-exams are beneficial to your oral health.

Brushing and flossing are key to preventative dental health, but you can keep your teeth in top condition by using other tools in your routine as well. Examples of these products are mouthwash, oral irrigators, interdental cleaners and tongue cleaners. These additional oral products support good oral health and should be used with regular brushing and flossing.

Most adults get their wisdom teeth in their late teens and early twenties. Wisdom teeth are the last four teeth in the back of the mouth at the top and bottom. But sometimes they don’t need to be removed if they’re not crowding your other teeth - some people don’t even get them! By maintaining your regular dental appointments, we’ll be able to see if your wisdom teeth have erupted healthily or not. It’s always best to monitor the development of the wisdom teeth to avoid any unnecessary pain and inconvenience and ensure optimal oral health.
