Neighbourhood street sweeping begins today. Check the schedule at edmonton.ca/streetsweeping to find when your street will be cleaned, or watch for signs in yo...ur neighbourhood. Be sure to park off the street when sweepers come by. Watch for road closures and drive for conditions. Street sweepers create dust, so keep your distance and drive slowly.
What a heart-warming true story about intentionally growing your community, and the positive effects it had on one family's life. If anyone in Killarney Community League is interested in being a Block Connector, get in touch here!
Someone lost a bin full of Christmas presents nearby... has anyone seen it? https://www.facebook.com/rhonda.koz/posts/10210304422438368

In April we had our AGM but there were no new people that attended. I did not let my name stand for any position so I am now off the board. The position of Publicity and the position of Programs are now vacant which means that I will not be posting any new information on Facebook for Killarney. Hopefully, someone else may take this job on. Thanks for your support. Have a great summer everyone.

Killarney Annual General meeting will be held April 17 at the hall at 7pm. We have 1219 adults and 626 children in our community. Many programs could be offered for free. The problem is that the majority members of the board are 65+ years. We cannot run, walk or jump the way we used to. This year seems to be a crucial year where board members are saying they can no longer carry on. The young community people have energy and ideas. Killarney needs you. Would you please conside...r helping on the board? Past board members are willing to help you in your new role. We have a great hall with 2 floors and 2 skating rinks, a playground outside as well as a spray park. Some people are needed to look over and offer programs that will make use of what we have. Would you please consider helping. Board meeting are once a month.

Thanks to the support of Alberta Tourism and Culture, the EFCL is able to help leagues start their own Community Walking Program. You supply the leaders, we'll supply the walking poles, training, guide manuals and so much more. It's easy and simple to apply, but there's only room 20 leagues to participate and the deadline is March 9, so don't delay. Is there any interest out there for something like this? We could schedule a day and a time and have some fun each week.
