The Christmas Holidays are fast approaching & with all the Fall yard work still to do, not to mention the Christmas decorating inside & outside, shopping & preparing for guests... Many of us (including myself) will not have the time to bring all our beloved silver jewellery (which always seems tarnished, to the jewelry store for cleaning. So, I found & tried this DIY - Silver Jewelry cleaner today & felt I needed to share with you all! I find my Pandora bracelets are difficul...t to keep clean & shinny (despite storing in dark lined boxes) Well, I tried it, I didn't even have to take all the charms off & NO scrubbing either, yay! this'll be a huge time saver, which I needed to share with you all. Below you'll see my Pandoa bracelets sparkly clean. Read Before You Start!: Gather your ingredients and line your pan with a sheet of foil (shiny side up). Lay out your dirty jewelry and have each part of the jewelry touch the foil. Not sure why this is important, but apparently it is. (Note: I cleaned my silver, 14k white gold and even a diamond ring without any problems. I don’t recommend using this cleaner on stones like opals and pearls. Not sure what the reaction would be to these types of natural stones.) Instructions: Mix 1 cup of boiling water, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda together. Then slowly pour the mixture into the foil lined pan. Use a spoon if necessary to stir and reposition the jewelry. Now comes the fun part! Slowly add the 1/2 cup of vinegar and watch it do its magic! Bubbles galore cleaning every crevice. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. If necessary, use a spoon to stir the salt and baking soda, and to evenly distribute the jewelry. Rinse in water and dry. Enjoy your shiny jewelry!~
Household Tip: After cooking fish, put a little bit if vinegar in a pot & let boil. The nasty fish smell will disappear almost instantly leaving your kitchen smelling clean again!
