KUMR is now closed for the season leaving us with some amazing memories. The Covid pandemic made it a very challenging but interesting summer! Many thanks to our friendly, hard working, patient staff, our wonderful guests and our dedicated and resourceful volunteers without whom we could not operate! KUMR will reopen for weekend tours on the Victoria Day weekend, 2021 if all goes well.

We have developed a plan to open safely starting July 1st! We will be operating 5 days a week: Thursday through Monday with 3 trips a day during the week and 4 trips on the weekends and holiday Mondays. Due to Covid-19, all of our attractions are closed probably until at least July.

Hard to believe, but Sunday, Sept. 6 is our last day of the season. Thursday and Friday the train runs at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00. Saturday and Sunday the train leaves at 10:00, 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00. Last chance to take in a train ride with us this season - we'd love to see you.

Geologist Paul Ransom and Kumr President hosted special Core Shack Tours for Claire Shaw's 6-7 class and for Toni Morrison's Grade 7 class. They were able to learn about some of the Sullivan Mine history along with some of the chemistry and geology involved in the mining process.

September 6 is our last day for the 2020 season. It has been a most interesting summer. Many thanks to all of our riders for their patience in observation of the Covid restrictions. Train times for Thursday's Fridays, and Monday are 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00. Saturday and Sunday, the train goes at 10:00, 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00. Hope to see you there!

Our very first Bunny visitor! And what a sweetie he was - very quiet and calm. We do welcome pets as long as they are on a leash or in your control. The summer is going quickly. If you haven't had a chance to come down for a beautiful scenic train ride, we'd love to see you. We are open every day except Tuesday and Wednesday. Trains run at 10:00, 11:30 1:30 and 3:00 on weekends and holidays, 11:30. 1:30 and 3:00 on weekdays. Hope to see you soon.

Many changes this year! KUMR is open five days a week - Thursday through Monday featuring a Scenic train ride through the Mark Creek Valley, through the underground tunnel, and up the hill to the resort and back. During the week, the trains depart and 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00. On the weekends and holidays, we run an extra train tour at 10:00 am. It's a beautiful and relaxing ride. Hope you can come for a visit. Tickets are available at the Downtown Station.

Happy Valentine's Day! It means that our opening weekend is not that far away. Our 2020 season starts on the Victoria Day holiday.

Every year Kumr hosts a Volunteer Appreciation Banquet to honour our incredibly talented, hard working and dedicated volunteers. Without these amazing volunteers, Kumr would not be able to function. The banquet gives all of us an opportunity to get together, relax and enjoy each other's company while enjoying a sumptuous meal. Many thanks to the Kimberley Elks Club, chef Patrick, and all those who decorated and helped serve and to Esther Jacobson for organizing the event.

All the best to our wonderful friends and supporters for Christmas and for the New Year. KUMR is closed for the season but we are hoping you'll come for a visit in 2020. We open weekends on the Victoria Day weekend, May 16 - 18, and daily operation begins on June 27 and continues until the Labour Day weekend.

Hard to believe that our season is almost over - just one more weekend! On September 7 & 8 we are having a community appreciation weekend featuring some special prices. $10 for everyone on the express tour. For the mining tour, $20 for adults, $10 for children. Children under three and dogs are always free. Come ride the train, enjoy some fall weather and experience some fascinating history.
