Bill's Tip of the Week It's citrus harvest season in California! So if you want to enjoy a piece of summery, exotic fruit while it's cold outside: we have oranges, tangerines, clementines, and more! In a nutshell here's a little bit about our favourites #1 - The Minneola Tangelo Orange is also nicknamed 'The Honeybell' because of its bell shape. It's a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit. They are large size and have a little 'neck', which makes them easy to peel ...too! #2 - The Blood Orange is a natural mutation of the sweet orange oranges that we are all familiar with. The flavour is a cross between orange and raspberry. Due to anthocyanin pigment they get their distinct colour. This brightly coloured pigment is common in other fruits and vegetables that have red, blue, or purple-ish colours such as blueberries, eggplants, beets, and purple cabbage. #3 - A Cara Cara Orange is the result of crossing a Washington Navel Orange and a Brazilian Bahia Navel Orange.
