Trail update. Things are starting to dry out. There will be some ups and downs over the next few weeks as the last of the winter squalls roll through. Please be mindful of trail conditions to reduce damage. Now is a great time to get out and clean up your favourite trails. You can rake the large debris like sticks and stones. Please don’t rake vigorously as to remove every last larch needle. These come in handy as the summer wears on and dries out the trails. ... Removal of fallen trees is also helpful. It’s a good idea to carry a folding saw at the beginning of the season and remove the smaller ones that have succumbed to the snow loads and winter winds. We’ll also be sending out a list of Covid friendly trail work initiatives soon. You can also donate $40 that will help fund the trail crew and volunteer refreshments. If you help out in any way, we would like to give you one of the new Trail Pass stickers to show your pride. Bootleg Mountain: Lower trails are beginning to dry. Stay off after the coming rains. Purple People Please will be closed for a little while. There was logging along the trail and a major cleanup needs to be done before it is safe to ride. Lois Creek: Mostly clear of trees thanks to the winter grooming crew. Still lots of snow on any of the shadowy areas. Levirs: Mostly clear. Watch for small icy patches. Nature Park: See their update below.

It's the most difficult time of year. Stick to the snow and pavement for a couple more weeks.

The trails in this area are dry and ready to use but we’ll ask for your cooperation to stay off affected areas and give the burn a turn.

Most of the logging is done in the trail areas of the Nature Park and Horse Barn but there is still a lot of clean up that will need to be done this spring. They have left a good amount of trees around most of the trails and some of the new views should be amazing! As for now, the trails will stay closed until the cleanup happens as many trails are impassable in places. Here is a blog post with a bit more information from the Nature Park. https://www.kimberleynaturepark.ca/blog

The trail will still be open but the race will have to wait another year.

Have you heard of a new project in town called "Electrify the Mountains"? The Kimberley Bulletin got the scoop! Have a read: https://www.kimberleybulletin.com//kimberley-gets-grant-f/

What a beautiful brisk day. The winter trails were absolutely perfect for fat biking during today's @kimberleywinterflannelfest Poker ride. HUGE thanks to the fantastic volunteers who pulled off a successful and appropriate event for this year. They even raised $365 in donations to help support trail maintenance and things like the winter grooming program. Above and beyond. #kimberleytrails #fatbike #pokerride #flannelfest #getoutside #winterfun

Looks like it’s a great time to enjoy the trails closer to town. Please respect the closures for your own safety.

Last chance to have your say. Love the Thunder Turkey trail? We’ve applied for funding to make some upgrades to this town favourite. Take two minutes to say how much you love this trail and to read about how we hope to make it even better. While your there see and support some of the other great projects too.

"Turn around, or go straight through it at slow speed, but don't go around mud or puddles" - Our beloved Trail Manager was interviewed earlier this week by the Kimberley Bulletin to talk trails and early conditions. Have a read, we bet you you will learn a thing or two :D. Please share with all your walking/running/riding friends.

They are here!!! Our 2021 KTS Trail Fund Calendars have arrived, just in time to be mailed for Christmas! Send a piece of your Kimberley life to those families we can't visit or see right now... or get one for yourself, or both! All proceeds goes to the trails. - There is a pretty good story behind it. This fall, Pascal Gray a local runner, adventurer and at times photographer, reached out to us and asked how he could get involved with KTS. We told him "if you have ideas, bri...ng them in!" He came up with the idea of a local community calendar. Together with another KTS director, they crafted this beautiful calendar and asked a few local photographers if they would donate their work for the trails. 3 weeks later, it was printed and now available at your local outdoor stores in town!!! - This wouldn't have been possible without the amazing support of our sponsors: Teck, Purcell Outdoors, Black Dog Cycle & Ski, Bootleg Bike Co., Rockies Law Corporation - Kimberley Office, FR Rentals Ltd., Tourism Kimberley, Earth's Own Naturals Ltd., Arrow & Axe, BDO, Stoke Market, GO Cranberley & Creekside Physiotherapy Clinic. Thank you!! - To not forget the amazing generosity of the photographers, featuring many local talents Meadowsweet Photography, Pascal Gray, Aric R. Keane Photography, Tim Wintoniw, Evan Dux Photography, Dave Couse, Mark Locki, Quentin Emeriau. #kimberleytrails See more

We may have been quiet... but this doesn't mean we haven't been active behind the scenes The new SnowDog groomer is coming to life! - After much time spent in the design phase by one of our Director, the metal plates were finally cut by KTS’ latest sponsor: FabRite! @fabriteservicesltd is a metal fabrication shop in Cranbrook and wanted to help with the trails, and oh did we have a perfect project for them! - Using their CNC plasma cutter, they cut out dozens of intricate p...ieces of plate which once all ‘Tetriced’ together, were welded into a new grooming plate by Mat Boudreau of @bootlegbikeco. If all goes according to plan, we will be doing our first groom in Lois Creek this week! Stay tuned. - #kimberleytrails See more

This. This is why we do the work we do: to strengthen our community through our beautiful network of trails. Thank you so much Treehouse Toy Co.! What a sustainable and creative way to raise funds for our trails. Those $500 will go a long way, going straight to fund trail maintenance. #kimberleytrails #agoodplacetogive

We did it! Our final trail night of the year was a success, again! Clearly not event a cold rainy dark night can stop volunteers to come out and support their community. That's so amazing to witness. - Today we are proud to say the East section of the Matthew Creek Connector is nearly complete, and the most impressive is the incredible 60-40 build ratio between Trail Crew and Volunteers, totalling over 500hrs of work. Nicely done Kimberley!! - We hope to see you tonight - online - for our 2020 AGM at 7pm! Join here: https://linktr.ee/kimberleytrails

We almost have a bridge! Ok, not the MAIN bridge we have been waiting for (more on this later), but a bridge is a bridge, so we will take this one. - Last night, our amazing volunteers did some heavy lifting, walked the beams from the road to the stream, built the footing on each side, set the beam in place and should all have boards by end of next week. The second half of the group pushed through and could almost stand on Mr Toad...! - Now, if we were going to host a trail n...ight with headlamps (thanks to time saving), would you come next Tuesday? #matthewcreekconnector #kimberleytrails See more
