A commissioned neckring I completed in November, I wouldn't dare post before the person received it lol I had so much excitement doing this piece as I've never done this kind of weave before, it taught me to slow down and be patient even though I was so excited to see the finished work. this Neckring is made with about 6-7 harvested trees the last few pulls of the harvesting season. We even witnessed a massive wolf in the same place just after we were done harvesting, it took it only a few minutes to trek 1/2 the big bay we were in. I can not wait to see this come to life in the big house.
For the next 6-7 months I'll be working on Potlatch pieces and give aways, just to be prepared if it's able to go through with this world wide pandemic. regardless of how i feel at the moment this is what helps me, all good things going into my work. Evelyn did everything for my kids without question and she took care of my husband as a child Into adulthood he seen her as a mother figure, now I have the most caring and kind man in the world and I love the fact he asked me to do this for him while they carry out his Gran's feast. Harvesting medicine off of our land and making my creations is what I can contribute excited about my first hat weaved like this, and many more to come in the following months for give away at Evelyn's headstone Potlatch.
when you're working on cedar its always exciting times. I've been thinking on a piece for all my smaller pieces of cedar
