Fighting for $15 per hour minimum wage . Let’s unpack the math on this: After taxes you’re at maybe $11.50. How about $3.50 a day for gas (or bus fare) to get there each day...down to $11. You have to eat while you’re there so even a $5 bag lunch will take you down a little to under $10.50. ... That puts you at $1,260 a month. Not bad. Just over $15K a year is of course not a working wage but every bit helps. Here’s what they don’t tell you. A lot of places require you to be standing up for 6 hours at a time, your back hurts BAD when you get home and you need an hour just to decompress. Germs everywhere and you’re exposed. Repetitive muscle motions lead to chronic problems over time. Clocking in and out you are treated like a robot not a human. Say one wrong thing and lose your job. Trading time for money you will never get back. You will never get ahead in life at this kind of wage. You will only get older and sorer. You are worth WAY more and you know it. Now, here’s the deal, I am NOT knocking it just speaking truth...but imagine what you could do if you started your own business for less than a trip to Costco ? Imagine if you had a mentor and a team who could guide you as an entrepreneur? Could you give yourself a raise whenever you wanted? Could you plug into a proven system? What if you could have a leveraged income rather than linear? At the end of one year working for Minimum wage where will you be in your business and entrepreneurship skills? What If during that year you honed your skills and learned how to make money online for very little overhead?? IMHO, stocking shelves and scanning barcodes will leave you wanting more after a year TRUST ME, I have done it. Got a cell phone? All I’m saying is that it is worth exploring the possibilities!!!
