Speaking of coffee, I finally got around to finishing up this #R2D2 multipurpose board that I made years ago. I started off staining this #woodworkingproject with the typical canned stain but I was fed up with the chemical smell and figured there must be a better way. I then decided to continue with coffee! I searched it up to see if anyone's done it and what the results were. Sure enough, others have thought about #coffeestain as well. Swipe to see the before and after. No...w time for #designtips Here’s what I did if you’d like to add this to your #diyprojects : 1. Make my regular morning brew 2. Pour the coffee in my cup 3. Enjoy my morning coffee and brew a second batch from the same grounds 4. Pour the new batch of coffee into a bowl and wait for it to cool 5. Grabbed a sponge & stained my board 6. Wait for it to dry 7. Repeat steps 5 & 6 The final product was achieved after 2 coats. Mind you, I started with a coat of stain. You might be better off with a stronger brew and apply at least 3 coats to achieve the same look. Others mix the coffee with vinegar for better absorption. However I didn’t find this necessary for what I needed. And there you have it, a #sustainablymade #starwarsinspired multipurpose board. #MayTheFourthBeWithYou #kimberlyjycreatives @ Toronto, Ontario

Feeling small.. Amidst such history; The grand sacrifices. - Geeking out on aviation engineering & escape / rescue missions. What an ideal way to learn while social distancing!... Look at the size of that cp107 Argus (+me for scale). It may not be the fastest, but it sure is a beast - with 2 bomb bays & a crew of 15. It was used in anti-submarine warfare until 1988. As you’ll see in my story, there’s also a fully restored NA337 (supposedly the only 1 in the world), which was salvaged from Lake Mjøsa in Norway and restored in Halifax. It took ~350,000 of volunteer hours to rebuild!
