Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles I'm feeling very still If you have ever wanted to visit the moon then you need to look no further than Vlychada Beach. ... This beach, despite its dramatic landscape & volcanic coastline, has somehow flown under the radar & does not get overcrowded with tourists over the summer. Most of the beach is free space, but you can still find the amenities of two beach bars, so bring all you need and find a spot to relax, surrounded by the spectacular dunes! You can find this black sand, pumice stone covered beach south of the island - not too far from Emporio Village. Located close to Vlychada Port, make sure to visit after you have worked up an appetite as you are pumice stones throw from a few tasty fish taverns. Save this post while planning your trip to #Santorini as you won’t want to miss visiting this volcanic beach. Also don’t tell mum, but there is beach section reserved for our naturists & nudists. Tan lines? no problem.

The number of churches on Santorini is regularly argued over - some say 450churches, some say over 600, others say there are more churches than houses. The fact is, there are churches covering the the whole island, and they are specifically famous for their iconic blue domes. I'm sure you have wondered, why are the domes painted blue? Well the dome construction of the church symbolizes the vault of the sky, and the blue paint the colour of the heavens. There is also a co...nnection between patriotism and the National colours of the white and blue flag of Greece. I'm sure you've also thought, why there are so many? One could say it is local religious zeal from a long history of volcanic eruptions & earthquakes. These blue churches are not only exclusive to the village of Oia, but are scattered throughout the island. When you visit Santorini, just know that you will set eyes on these impressive architectural marvels and beautiful colours whenever you go! Save this post for your next holiday in Santorini The largest blue dome church is located in Imerovigli Village. The most recognizable blue dome church is in Oia Village. My favourite blue dome church is located in Megalochori Village.

As you know us Greeks love to talk! We talk loud and passionately and finish a conversation with the popular expression: ta léme! ( !), which literally means we talk, meaning ‘see you!’ or ‘talk to you later!’ The verb to see is not used in this expression but instead the verb to talk (‘’) conjugated to léme (‘’) that translates to ‘we talk’ or ‘we speak’. You see? Still with me? You’re right it’s all Greek to me too. All you have to do it take my word ...for how to say adieu! Save this post & this useful phrase to use during your next visit to Greece With Greece opening up soon, I look forward to seeing you soon. Until then: !

One of my favourite things about Greece is that wherever you go you see generations of design, from ancient to modern, the old & new coexisting in a harmonious way. My personal favourite are the prevalent iron doors adding character and reflecting the personality of the home within. These iron grills offer protection while allowing light into the home, serving as a gate to keep would-be invaders out, but also serving as something inviting to welcome someone in. As you may already know, there are many different styles of doors found in Santorini, each one with a different history behind it. The cast iron doors can be more often found in the older traditional villages, untouched by the upgrades brought on by tourism, like Emporio Village, and trust me when I say, it is a Greek door paradise! #mygreekisland

Would you elope? My favourite thing is about elopements (obviously aside from photographing them) is that they allow the couple to focus on what is truly about them without the pressure that usually come with big weddings. As your photographer I love the quirks that make you you & I want to capture that on your day. ... By eloping you make space to be authentically yourselves and at the end of the day however you decide to get married make sure it reflects the two of you. Amanda & Adam made a great decision to elope in Santorini & I’m sure this experience they will never forget because they had all the room to focus & share the entire day on each other. As seen in the Destination Wedding Magazine issue of @todaysbridemag #allyouneedisGreece

You’ve probably read it a thousand times, but get ready to read it again. I’m going to share my favourite quote by #PicoIyer paired with one of my favourite morning shoots to inspire that no matter how far or close to home we are we can still muse over adventure, connection & belonging. And if travel is like love, it is, in the end, mostly because it’s a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, in dimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed.... That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end Happy Friday Lovers, XO ~KK #allyouneedisGreece

We all associate the iconic blue & white architecture with Greece, even though this style is only prevalent in the Cycladic islands. But did you know that this colour scheme wasn’t always the case? Santorini & the other islands were originally a wash of multiple coloured façades painted in shades of yellow ochre, earth red, Egyptian blue, black and even light blue. Even in Santorini we’re slowly seeing the typical white-washing tradition being replaced with a revival of t...he original multi-coloured style! Let’s take a brief look back in history to explain where these multiple colours came from. Traditionally given the lack of wood, locals used stone, mud and volcanic cement to build their houses, & during the ages when pirates roamed the Aegean, as a defence strategy these houses were left unpainted so that natural materials camouflaged into the landscape. It was later on, after the threat of pirate was no longer, that locals started painting their homes with natural dyes that complimented the natural resources used in construction. Santorini thus became an island of colourful houses painted in a mix of shades and colours. Another explanation is that the fishermen would paint their homes using left over colours after they had finished repainting their boats. Personally, I can’t wait till the hues make a full comeback. Could you imagine the famous #Santorini anything apart from white and blue? Imagine the photographs we could capture!

"Do you ever go out for a walk by yourself? It is very important to go out alone, to sit under a tree...not with a book, not with a companion, but by yourself...and observe the falling of a leaf, hear the lapping of the water, the fisherman's song, watch the flight of a bird, and of your own thoughts as they chase each other across the space of your mind." ~Jiddu Krishnamurti Hello lovers Checking in to see how we’re all doing. Myself? Well I am just a trail mix of emoti...ons. I guess, feeling are like visitors & they come & go as they please. I try to greet each of them, even the unwelcome feelings (sometime I let them overstay their welcome). I find by spending time with my emotions helps me figure out who are the frequent visitors. I can then focus on what I need to work on & forget what is not worth my energy. Am I even close to being a centred person? Not even close. The important this is that I try & remind that I’m doing the best I can & to just embrace life as it is & let go of the fixation of how life should be. So folks, be gentle with yourself, to others & that it’s okay to not be okay. One day soon we’ll be able to meet & just know I’ll be giving you the biggest hug! Till then, much love

Santorini is a beautiful location full of luxury, pristine white cliff-hugging villages & blue cupolas, but keep in mind it’s also a historic volcano! The harsh & austere qualities of Santorini give the island not only its beauty but also its greatness. As the island’s timeline is dotted with significant earthquakes, eruptions & conquests remember that even though today Santorini is a glamorous vacation getaway, it also suffered through centuries of hardship. Behind the... glamorous façade you can witness an island that has suffered throughout history but also see that regardless of the influence from human or nature, Santorini has its way of always reasserting itself. In order to get a true sense of Santorini this is my short list of must visit locations: HISTORY: Archaeological site of Akrotiri AGRICULTURE: any Wine Tour LUXURY: Oia Village HIKING: Boat/hiking trio to the Volcano (Nea Kameni) VENETIAN INFLUENCE: Castle in Akrotiri & the Lighthouse OG ISLAND LIFE: Half Day trip to Thirassia Save this post for your next travel to #Santorini

Santorini insider tip!! Make sure to save this post for your next trip #Santorini is well known for its picturesque whitewashed Cycladic villages. Everyoneflocks to the popular cliff-hugging hotspots suspended over the caldera. But my favourite village is a bit of hidden gem and it is still mostly untouched by tourists.... Pyrgosvillage has all the authentic charm of a traditional greek island with hamlets that lead to hilltop churches with the classic blue domes and iconic white homes. This hill-top sanctuary is the highest village on the island that offers sweeping views, majestic sunsets andis surroundedby vineyards. You definitely want to make time to visit Santorini’s best-kept secret equipped with lazycafés, shaded squares and picture perfect views no matter where you look.
