We are proud to announce that the team at Kincardine Dentistry attended the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Awards Gala on Saturday night and won the BDO Customer Service Award! Thank you to BDO for sponsoring this award and thank you to the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce for their energy and enthusiasm in co-ordinating this important event in Kincardine. We are very fortunate to have so many invested, committed people in Kincardine and this evening sho...wcased just how hard people work to make Kincardine an incredible community to live in! Congratulations to all the nominees! And a big shout out to Ainsdale Golf Course for going above and beyond hosting this event! As owners of the practice, Michael and I want to thank our patients and community members for nominating us. It is a true pleasure to serve the people in our community and we feel privileged to have built meaningful relationships with our patients over several decades. We also want to thank our staff who put 100% into their jobs every day as assistants, hygienists, dentists and administration staff. Your expertise, professionalism, knowledge, caring and empathy, along with healthy doses of humour are what we love about running our practice. You are what makes Kincardine Dentistry successful! Finally, thank you to Dr. Ralph Bruce for setting the bar so high. Beginning in 1878, the Bruce family provided dental services in the community of Kincardine. It was the end of an era when Ralph retired in 2010. However, we are proud to say that Ralph's philosophy of providing the best most comprehensive dental care in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere is a standard we strive to carry on today and is enshrined in Kincardine Dentistry's Mission Statement. We are still not sure who our nominators were and the selection committee at the chamber remained tight lipped when pressed for information. So this year, at Kincardine Dentistry, we will pay this honour forward and be sure to nominate individuals who have made contributions to our community either through their work or volunteer initiatives. We look forward to seeing these nominees at the 2020 Kincardine Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Awards! Sincere, heartfelt thanks to everyone. Michael and Gail Walden Kincardine Chamber

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario’s Royal College of Dental Surgeons has advised all dental offices in the province to close in an effort to contribute to the effort to try to flatten the curve of the spread of this virus. Therefore, effective Monday March 16, 2020, Kincardine Dentistry will be closed. If you are currently scheduled in the upcoming weeks, we will be contacting you to move your appointment to a later date. We will be seeing patients who require emerge...ncy care only. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, please call Dr. Walden at 519-396-8472 or Dr. Umar at 519-396-3763. A dental emergency includes any of the following situations: - swelling to the face or neck - a broken tooth that causes irritation to the cheek or tongue - an injury to the mouth as a result of trauma - prolonged bleeding or tooth pain that can not be managed with over the counter medication. If you have any of these dental symptoms and therefore require emergency dental treatment, we will be screening you prior to seeing you in the office. These questions include: - have you travelled in the past two weeks? - have you been in contact with anyone who has travelled in the past two weeks i.e. contact of less than 2 meters? - are you experiencing any flu like symptoms i.e. fever, sore throat, cough, general achiness? If you answer yes to any of these questions, we will ask if you have been tested for COVID-19. If your test is positive, your dental emergency will be assessed and a determination on the best way to treat it will be provided. If you have a dental issue, that you would like to discuss, please give us a call and we will try to offer advice over the phone until we can see you in our office. Please take note, any patients who visited our office from March 2 - March 13 and have a positive COVID-19 test are required to contact our office. We know that everyone in our community is committed to being part of the effort; keeping our families and friends as safe as possible at this most difficult time. Collaboration is the best way to help stop the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your support and understanding as this health crisis evolves.
