Did you know that Kindred was formed in part because two of our members, who are in a same-sex marriage, wanted to attend a church when they were new to townbut didn't know how to find out which congregations were LGBTQ2S+ affirming? And in fact, even asking around stirred up some tragically homophobic comments. Our town still has a ways to go, but luckily, organizations like Affirming Connections are offering resources like this to help communities get to where they need to be.

Yes to more rural/ ag representation in the media and pop culture! Chutter said representation of LGBTQ farmers is limited. The 36-year-old came out only a few years ago. He lived most of his life not believing that he could be both gay and a farmer. He had never known a gay farmer throughout the first three decades of his life. Save the Date National Seniors Day is October 1, 2020 This event is aimed at bringing light, education and support to the 2S-LGBTQ+ seniors across Canada. With so many seniors facing isolation and lack of support during COVID, they wanted to focus their efforts on shedding light on the issues facing the 2S-LGBTQ+ community, the unique stressors, and risk associated with being a part of this demographic. They want to educate the public, service providers and members of the... community on what they can do to support each other and lift each other up. As we come into bisexual visibility week, here’s a lovely piece featuring a diversity of bi+ voices. For me, being openly and visibly bisexual is about actively dismantling our ideas of what love, romance, gender, and sexuality look like. It's about disrupting our ideas of what relationships can and should look like. What I want people to understand about bisexuality is we aren’t ‘gay lite.’ Bi+ people have a unique experience and our own unique struggles. We are estatic to announce our partnership with Kids Up Front Calgary A wonderful organisation that provides experiences to deserving children and youth. They believe that all kids should have access to enriching experiences like arts, culture, and sporting events. Attendance at events like these helps to foster feelings of inclusion and belonging in the children they help. Kids Up Front reaches children in need through innovative programs by distributing tickets, classes, and passes to more than 300 partner agencies. We can't wait to share all the wonderful opportunities this bring to the children and youth of Cochrane!

Kids Up Front Opportunity for kindred families Drive in Movie at Stampede Park this weekend We have 2 tickets to give away to families. Each ticket will include the admission of one vehicle and one bag of popcorn. ... It's only been three weeks, but we miss Pride already! Luckily, there's always next year to look forward to. And in the meantime, all these memories! We can't say enough great things about Sink Or Swim Creationsnot only are they amazing artists and community contributors, but they just presented Kindred with a $735 check from their 4th annual Pride Fundraiser!
